But not much was seen of the hard work before early 1990's. That's a fact. What we may need to establish is why. Could the rapid influx of Somali refugees into Kenya have been a factor. It is said that immigrant communities tend to develop a "higher need for success" because they feel kind of insecure and less complacent. Secondly Somalis are highly supportive of each other and it is thought that it is due to the strong social bonds they build in their religion. While Christianity in Africa is usually a one-day affair per week, Islam tends to be a way of life among its adherents. Just a thought.

Somalis are Kenyans. Sudanese are Kenyans. Masai are both Kenyan and Tanzanian. Having hated through misunderstanding whp a person is to me is stupid. I am a Pan Africanist, not alone East African unity. Eastleigh is cool. I lived there for a while. I have also met people if Ethiopian and Eritrean descent who also were cool. They were more brothers and sisters to me than my own relatives.

Note that there is a small population of Somalian Bantus. They are not Somalis but they are Somalians. And there are very many Somalis who are not Somalians. Like Kenyan Somalis and Ethiopian Somalis from the Ogaden region.

We saw thousands of Somalians coming to Nairobi specifically Eastleigh with some going east as far East as Komarock. Sooner they started building malls that were never before. Those are not Kenyans. It's from there they started calling Eastleigh 'little Mogadishu '. If they were Kenyans, they would call it little 'Garissa , Madera or Wajir'.

@@FutoXar Nairobi swallowed Kikuyulands. You can't divorce Nairobi with Kikuyus. Masai refused to adapt to modernity and still value livestock more than anything else. Nairobi river was the northernmost boundary of masailand . All areas north this river were built on land belonging to Kikuyus when they relocated them. MAU MAU fought the colonialist and the land is against Kenyans.
