Great real world service video, Hank! The Vactrac is a really nice tool except for the unconscionably high price. Being a former, retired business owner, I get it regarding costs to produce, patent, and market such a tool but heck, such is very hard to swallow. Know what I mean?
@RobertBrothersJr-dc7nr2 ай бұрын
I felt bad for you when I saw all that oil leaking out. One thing for sure you definitely showed me how well the vactrac works. I will be ordering one and I will be sure it’s fully charged before I do my 50 hour service. Great video Hank. Thanks

I really was quite impressed by it....Totally my fault I didn't charge it before I used it.

I purchased one recently, after watching this video. I used it on a Kubota L6060 HSTC to change both Hydraulic filters, which are underneath the tractor very similar to TYM's design. The VacTrac worked great!! (not sure if it mattered, but I only did one filter at a time vs both - figuring it would ensure a stronger vacuum). I did ensure it was fully charged before using, again thanks to Hank. Thanks very much Hank for the video and recommending the VacTrac.

Getting ready to do the 50 hour on my TYM574 that I purchased on June 20th 2024 from Zimmerman Equipment in New Castle VA. I am retired from 45 years of Industrial Maintenance and Engineering. I am my own service center unless it's warranty repair. I chose the 574 for the simplicity and ability to do my own service and repair.

Hank grab a piece of clear rubber hose to fit over the funnel and long enough to get you up over the loader frame. Those Deutz fill ports are tricky to get to. I think we got a 2 ft hose for dad’s tractor.

You are not kidding. I recently did mine on a 2515h and it was ~$250 for the oils and filters. That is using cheaper tractor supply and napa oils as well. That oil bath was crazy! If you used the bathtub I bet that needs a good cleaning too. 😅

That Vactrac worked great, not only is it a good idea to charge it before using it, but break the filters loose first so you only have to spin them off after you turn the Vac on instead of spending all that time trying to get filter wrenches on and breaking loose.

🚜🔧🔧 Hank, you don't need another funnel. Take your funnel with you to the parts store and get about 24 inches of tubing that fits the end of your funnel. Itsaved a lot of aggravation changing engine oil and fluids.

It was $350 for mine when I took my Boomer 50 in after 2 months. I hauled it in myself 120 miles to the dealer. I have pretty bad arthritis in my shoulders and I have heard rumors about how hard it is to get factory filters off. 3 years later and I just crossed the 400 hour mark and have done my own service since then.

Well, I always clean around the filters before removing them so no dirt will get in while using my small work area vacuum. I bought a piece of heater hose that fits the fill port exactly then taped it to the vacuum hose so i don't need two people as they say in their ad to change a filter. What you do need is two people to get the hydraulic filter off if it's the original put on by the factory. I don't know why they put it on so tight. I have an LS MT342 HC with their SHST transmission.

Did you forget to drain the oil out of the center section of the front differential? It may have a drain plug. Don't you have to grease it, check belt tension, and check the coolant at 50 hrs, too? Thanks for the video, and God bless you!

You need to check all that stuff IAW the manual. This wasn't a how to video, rather how I video. I grease and check all that stuff more frequently than the books say.👍

@@hhamilton1970 I wasn't giving you a hard time. I appreciate you all and your videos. Thank you! Nothing but love coming to you from this house in Maine. I'm just wondering if there is one on your tractor. The Kubota M7040 I've worked on didn't have one but I think the Cub Cadet 8454SS that's a repainted Kioti DK45 which is South Korean did have one. How often do you grease your tractor? I just saw on the Kubota manual it says every 100 hrs but the loader is every 10 hrs. 100 hrs seems like a long time. Thanks again for all you do and God bless you all!

just a thought, is the vac powerfull enough to do both filters at once? With 2 openings it may lose too much vacume to hold all the fluid back.
@hhamilton19702 ай бұрын
I feel like it would probably be strong enough if both filters were off
@oscarscott32322 ай бұрын
Yeah. But better safe than sorry. Best to loosen both filters before firing up that Vac Trac.
@hhamilton19702 ай бұрын
If you loosen them the fluid would spill. The issue with these is, they were brand new and new filters on every tractor are notorious for being super tight. The filters won't be that tight next change. 👍

I'm at 40hrs on the T474. I want to do it myself, but I started thinking about the warranty. Do you know if it affects the warranty not having the dealer do it?
@Ravman2452 ай бұрын
I asked my dealer that same questions when I got my T25, I was told I need to keep all of the receipts for everything I purchase, make sure I use the proper viscosity oils and I would be fine warranty wise if something were to occur. I am also using a log book to track any maintenance I do just to have that record as well.
