There is no magic bullet: you can get unlucky with Honda Civic or lucky with Jaguar
@dragonsystems59732 күн бұрын
This is just flat wrong, Jag is known as a terrible brand. The chances of getting lucky with a Honda Civic are about 99.9% more likely with the Civic, are there fringe cases and lemons? Sure

Car salesman/repairman here. Civic is king, but you might be shocked that the Mazda3 actually has the lowest cost to own after several years when it comes to maintenance in my experience. The problem with Mazda is they cost more initially and do not get the same great MPG. Corolla is the 3rd of course. If I had to suggest a car to save my life, the 2015 Prius-C is perfect.

Honestly anything Toyota or Honda is going to be better than most other options, and be generally the most readily available. I like Civics and Corollas because I also think the likelihood of them still having more than half of their life left at north of 100K is as high as you can find, so you can go buy one other people have written off as "high mileage" at 120K miles that is really just getting started.. I think most people are used to German/US Domestic that are basically done at 100K, so it devalues cars that are not

@@dragonsystems5973 It is really difficult to find them under 100k unless they have been in an accident. I think that people sleep on the Mazdas because it is not a sexy option. But after nearly 10 years of doing this the Mazdas are very under the radar. I am starting a car channel soon and let people know what you read on the internet and actual facts are 2 different things.

mazda 3 owner here, and I love my car. no CVT sold me even though mine is manual
@dragonsystems59733 күн бұрын
@mikeriley129 I do like manual, though it is worth mentioning that Hondas CVT is regarded to be a good transmission... it does need to be properly maintained though.. I think like a $200 service every 30k miles, ive got 140k on my 2017 Civic Touring and have had zero issues
@RobertFixit3 күн бұрын
@@dragonsystems5973 100k for us was just getting started. Even at 150k it was still not considered high mileage. My moms 03 corolla (which was mine), has 289k at the moment.

I do have Honda Civic. Bought as used one, cost a few grand. I've running same car 7 -8 years now without any issues. I guess I was lucky. Lowest cost any car so far. I don't have any interest on cars even if I could afford to buy almost anything now, because I really like long lived, nearly maintenance free tech because I'm lazy and I hate buying new stuff. This car just meet my standards because I would be angry if I bought a new one with defects. I also do have photo/videography as hobby but that is not expensive. My camera cost only $500, gimbal $200, two video lights $250, I didn't pay anything for my two tripods. I'm still missing big area light. Software didn't cost anything. I also think computing is now cheapest hobbies around. Games are also super cheap.

I mean... Look, if you can do photography and not go down the rabbit hole, I pat you on the back and say well played sir... HOWEVER, the truth of the matter is, life is a contest, whoever dies with the most camera gear wins, fair and square... Bonus points given at the pearly gates for pro grade glass... Yeah, I spent like $12,000 on camera gear this year, its is part of the dramatic quality improvement in my videos, though that was not the only reason I bought the stuff, but typically I buy new camera gear like once every 20 or so years, so its not like Im going to spend another 12k in 2025. I have a few grand more worth of lenses I want, but after that ill be down to just a few grand once every several years for maybe a new body

Secret on saving huge amount in cash in camera gear is.... size. Increasing size of camera means that it is harder to stabilize, and optics are harder to make, and large sensor requires cooling. So smaller camera tradeoff is sensor size and amount light it captures. These best, back illuminated stacked sensors are just so good even on smaller sizes. So this camera is optimized for "single person film crew" -usage, or some versatile usage like shooting high resolution images and panorama. I know that different use cases requires spending money on different kind of camera.

@gruntaxeman3740 i needed full frame to get the ultrawide lenses i wanted
@gruntaxeman37403 күн бұрын
Actually full frame is... bad for ultrawide lenses. I mean lenses where focal length is less than 20mm on full frame. Reason is, when making very wide angle lens for full frame causes it to be thick and optics are then... very hard to make and light need to pass more glass. It is easily lottery to get good lens. What I mean that ultra wide lens on full frame causes that image is easily blurred around corners. Less than 20mm, micro 4/3 is likely best. Or on very extreme wide angle, GoPro and that is cheap.
