As a Floridian, you have no idea what you're in for. (I mean that in a good way) Universal is one of the most "bang for your buck" theme parks in the world, I would argue. The level of theming is also going to be completely unmatched all the way to Paris lol...

Fully agree. As a Brit I’ve visited Florida 4 times. Universal is by far the best theme parks there. Much better value for money and those refillable cups which Disney don’t offer in their parks are a saving in themselves. Better rides and better coasters than Disney.

The Kempston Hardwick station will in the future form part of the new East West Rail line from Oxford, MK, Bedford and Cambridge running 4 car trains, as well as the 2 car Bedford Bletchley train running in between, so it will improve. If you were wondering

That station will close down and they'll be building a new one just down the line. If they need to do 4 lines then the whole railway from Bedford to Bletchley will have to shut down. East west railway will cause a lot of disruption for the town but I think it'll be worth it seeing its potential connecting Bedford to Cambridge, MK, and Oxford by rail.

The one thing I think they need to keep in mind when they are building this park is that we don't get Paris weather, we need indoor/sheltered parts and making sure that a rainy day doesn't ruin the experience. I wonder if the 'jumping coaster' themed to Donkey Kong might be an option.

Well at Universal Studios Japan, there’s a large canopy over the Hollywood area of the park namely for the humid and rainy season of Japan. So there would probably be something like that.

What I’m hoping is that Universal will initially be a blow to Disneyland Paris so they can finally wake up and install a real new attraction (latest coaster was RC Racer in 2010 and ground up ride in the main park was Buzz Lightyear in 2006). DLP has become really stale over the last few years, causing me and a lot of others to ditch them for Parc Asterix despite DLP being easier to access and closer to my home.

@DigitalDan Does it? Why is that? The UK economy isn't doing too well and UK theme park attendances are dropping not rising. That's not a particularly good sign considering how expensive Universal parks are. Furthermore this whole project requires a massive amount of government funding towards infrastructure improvements too. I'd say it's still 50/50 at the moment.

Been thinking about this for a while, and I believe that if UK parks were left as is, I believe that Thorpe Park would probably do better, Legoland will probably stay as is, and most other parks will see a small attendance drop. Thorpe is so close to so many airports, and is only a single day trip, it's an easy thing to add on, plus with key advertising, Hyperia will be something quite a few people will want to try. Whereas thinking of other parks, such as Alton. It's hard to get to, requires 2 days to truly experience, and really isolates you to do just Alton during that. And other parks are great, they just don't tend to have a highlight ride that'd force anyone but thoosies to make the extra time and journey. So I honestly expect a couple of big statement pieces in the next few years, especially from the northern parks, to try and get people to take the trip up there. Alton is probably going to get a pretty hefty investment spike in about 2 years

I think it’s very likely they’ll make a Hogwarts area here since it lends itself to mostly being inside that the UK really needs for this sort of thing. Sorting Hat, Dorm rooms, Chamber of Secrets, all things that haven’t been done yet that are perfect for a park needing inside attractions for year round use.
