Arma 3 is a decade old game and all it needs are a decent graphics, enemy AI, engine and optimized FPS. Gameplay is already phenomenal and what makes it more spicy are the mods. I really hope Bohemia develops this game further coz it's been a long time that this has been updated.

I agree, it is amazing. From what I understand, Reforger is the Bridge from Arma 3 to Arma 4. Which is very exciting because Reforger has many of the mechanics we use mods for in Arma 3 already built in. And the graphics are pretty damn good tbh.

Reforger is currently only better for PvP. Not for curated missions made by an individual. The mission making process is not ideal

Meh I’ll never like arma 3 there’s just something about it that just doesn’t resonate with me. I’ve always thought arma 2 was the better game

@@TacticalBootneck yeah I think it’s both the aesthetics and mechanics of the game. Mechanically the movement is so floaty feeling because of there being no turn speed limiter and you can spam between stance changes it just doesn’t feel real. And then aesthetically the game is clearly very real looking with the lighting being very true to reality in how it is in real life. But funny enough cognitively it’s almost like because it is so real my mind KNOWS it is so I never connect with it because I know it isn’t real. Unlike in arma 2 the aesthetics are more around what a camera looks like and how the sun light reacts in that so it’s like my mind thinks “this COULD be real” and then fools it to relate to it a bit more.

@@LakevusParadice Yeah makes sense, that's fair enough. I never actually played ARMA 2 so don't really know what that was like. Ultimately though, games are meant to be enjoyed and if you don't enjoy it you don't enjoy it right. I very much do but that is largely due to the community I have around it rather than the game its self I guess. You know?

They may “look like ass” and are dated looking but when you actually play them they feel way different than they look. And arma is definitely one of those games that gets better with friends because of the missions and endeavors you can achieve because it. Especially if your in a clan or something that does Ai events

@@LakevusParadice Yeah it's funny how often its the games with not as much graphic fidelity but rather a community aspect to it that stays "evergreen". I do run a semi relaxed milsim unit which is what makes it so good for me. I tried arma before solo and didn't care for it.

If PvP is what you are into then yes, this might be true. But the reality is. Everyone isn't into PvP. I personally don't actually care for PvP at all. Also, having played squad myself. Your gaming experience very much depends on who you end up in a squad with. you only need one person blazing annoying music or not caring about the tactics and immersion to screw it up for every one.

Arma III is trash. Its like playing a showcase... a very badly optimised showcase. Arma Reforger... same trash different graphics and engine. Engine showcase. You can basically see how the buildings are planet on maps... thats how great the textures are. You can't do anything in these games except shoot... cover is trash as well. Game is just a big trash disappointment

Well you are obviously entitled to your opinion. I do think that you are wrong. Arma 3 and Reforger are very much what you make of it, with mods of course, but it also thus allows you to do anything from HALO jumps, SEAL delivery vehicles and so much more. It seems to me that your experience was very much surface level, which is sad.

@@TacticalBootneck well, maybe they should've mash it all together and sell under some other name, because, just like with any other game, arma with huillion of mods is not really arma, is it? Let alone the fact that you often need mods just to make original game actually playable. Arma was good when there was no alternatives to it. Now there are plenty, starting with casual not_sims that still employ a decent amount of tacticoolness, ending with PJR and SQUAD.

There is a bunch of games that allow you to do a lot with mods.... of course. It seems to me you are into this cool navy seal experience... which ArmA III definitely provides to a certain degree. That aside it is a trash game. The BOTs are trash and since the playerbase is low that is important. You can't find 1 server that is full on ArmAIII that isn't modded and even the modded ones that are full its... vietnam and thats it... Vietnam is actually the only good thing about ArmA III and even that... its basic planted material. Poor optimization ... w/e yeah its a showcase . Cool weapons and realistic uniforms and vehicles. But that's about it. Its nowhere near what it could/should be then they want 120 bucks for it ... and pay a bunch of youtubers to promote it.
