The Aimchess Rapid is the 8th of 9 events on the $1.6 million 2022 Meltwater Champions Chess Tour and takes place on chess24 from October 14-21. The 16-player field will be cut in half by the 4-day round-robin Prelims. The total prize fund is $150,000, with $750 for a win and $250 for a draw in the Prelims. The quarterfinals and semi-finals are 1-day, 4-game matches, while the final will feature two such matches over two days.
The players have 15 minutes for all their moves, plus a 10-second increment starting from move 1. In the Prelims there are 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw. If a tiebreak is required the players will play two 5+3 games and then, if needed, a single Armageddon game, where White has 5 minutes to Black's 4, but a draw counts as a win for Black. No draw offers are allowed before move 40. Official website: chess24.com/tour

So what's the difference between a 2800 and 2700 rated player?.I think you are too obsessed with ratings
@dstreetz91
@dstreetz91 Жыл бұрын
@@antoniostojanovski9008 2800 is something very, very few people ever achieve compared to 2700. You need to understand many things you and I cannot even fathom to reach 2800 rating.

@antoniostojanovski9008 Жыл бұрын
@@dstreetz91 But what about people who are 2700 or 2600 and defeat people who are 2800.It isn't a very different depth.Rating is based on result not depth.If you think deeply,but you are unable to control your emotions or not able to thrive under stress, doesn't mean you don't think deeply
@antoniostojanovski9008

@@dstreetz91 At the end of the day 2800 is about performance not depth.People who are 2700 understand the same things that people who are 2800.But some win/draw/loss here and there makes all the difference.Perfprmance is not only about depth of understanding,there are countless things.For myself i know from experience i ,it is like a test,when i prepare i know almost everything,i rehearsed the same situation countless times,but when i get to play,a cloud forms.What i am trying to say is that a lot of things different from depth come to mind.Take for example my namesake from this channel he is a pretty deep thinker for chess,a brilliant mind,but in chess you compete and some people compete better than others,but that doesn't mean that depth of understanding makes the difference
