There could have been a better way for Lilith to corrupt them or maybe the priest could have defied her more. But I think it demonstrates just how terrifying a Demon is to a mortal so I think its realistic. But they did have almost no caution in their eyes when they saw Lilith. Which is kind of stupid when you see a chick that tall with horns speaking with a seductive voice to you and speaking about how sin is your birthright. You'd think they would be more terrified than they were. They must have been trying to tell us she charmed them immediately to demonstrate how powerful she is but in Diablo humans are descendants of the half breeds you'd think they'd be able to resist more than that. But I enjoyed the psychotic corruption and the dark tone it brought when she started stabbing the priest. Sht was brutal.

Your love of Diablo 2 is nostalgia. If you played D2R you'd realize how sht that game was. Even with a new fresh set of graphics. But dont let that upset you I played Diablo 1 and 2 as a kid and they were probably great for their times. (I'm 26) and I still love them especially their cut scenes. But as a guy that prefers mechanics. I prefer Diablo 3 sure it had a few sht ones but it did combat, animations, interactions, et cetera; Better than Diablo 2.

But I'd agree with you the skill system is way better in 2. But it also wasn't anything spectacular imo. I prefer Path of Exile's skill trees. Diablo 3 had more flare on the skills in terms of animations and fluidity that is the only thing I'd say on that. But also diablo 3 was made in like what 2011 so it makes sense why it would be better. Typically ill like a newer game (not all the time) because the mechanics feel newer and more fluid. Sometimes a story can ruin a game too. But if its like a Dragons Dogma where you can climb on monsters and have cool ass mechanics like that then I wouldn't really care about the story most likely.

The dark souls series including demon's souls bloodborne and elden ring have really good character creators and fleshed out fantasy worlds without bear fucking lol. Even the magic will rely on the in universe lore and has unique effects depending on classification. From Soft stays winning.

@@spimpsmacker6422 thats crazy cause not only do 1 and 2 play complety differently, but all of them have differences that change how the games are played completely outside of the dodge and hit mechanics. Demons souls is the most basic version but has a lot of charm. 1s world is all interconnected with less fast travel and slower movement and poise. 2 is the worst but plays more linear with powerstancing and a different healing system. 3 is fast paced and the most linear that focuses on combat the hardest for the souls games. Bloodborne is a different setting healing system and combat system that encourages argression. Skerio is a completely different type of game. Elden ring is open world tgat combinds a bit of everything very well. These are very pount note differences to i could go into it deeper but it would take too long lol A series that is a good example of people buying the same shit is cod pokemon or sports games, which release more often with less changes.

They overdo it so much with the cryptic lore you've got to wonder whether anyone at From Software actually has a clear, well-defined idea of what's going on in their games. I just wrote it off as the game trying to be dark, edgy, and satanic with the imagery. Sam's points are true: It's really lazy - all the "customization" is superficial embellishment, with no actual depth if you care about character creation (just a bunch of presets). And the point about sound design I can really relate - always pushing this "high dynamic range" bullshit in every game since 2010, it sounds like your sitting right next to the loudspeaker in an IMAX theater.
