Well that was very inspiring. I'm in the process of working up the jam to take my D850 apart. I dropped it a couple of weeks ago, as I was loading up for a 2 week trip. (back for 2 days now) Luckily it worked well enough to take photographs but the viewfinder is blurry and the lens mount looks... not square. I need to find what parts I need and their names so I can try to source them. Anything to avoid the dreaded trip to Nikon.

hi, I have a nikon d810. I saw this repair vid. was great. my d810 the control panel screen is cracked. Nikon wants to charge me 398.00 to fix it. can it be done by myself since I have never fixed a camera? I'm a computer tech. Do you have a video repairing that tiny screen on the top right of the camera? let me know

Hi, I don't have a video covering what you are after as this Nikon D610 repair was a once-off attempt at camera repair. Without knowing anything about the design of the D810, if yours is out of warranty, if you can source the parts yourself and if you have the necessary tools, I would say give it a go!

I have a nikon d610 would you be able to repair it for me possibly. It wont let me access menu and it is saying dial err when i put it in aperature priority. Please help!

And it will only shoot in manual mode. Most buttons aren't functional.

Best bet would be to take it to a Nikon authorised repairer

look for ones that get an error after sitting, power up and slam on the table with shutter depressed
