Sorry for huge comment btw I was really excited when I saw the title and got really sad when I heard those massive percentages and felt I must get on top of correcting these misconceptions so that we may have more badass Lords of Fel in our ranks at least for a little while more. Thx for your content as always, been playing mmos since eq/eq2/SWG so the soe group I guess and wow vanilla onward with some breaks and typically agree with most of what you say and do here and recommend it to many many players I see in game that need a hand.

Do you want screen shots of me saying destro will be good on your own videos like 2 months ago? Or any other KZbin videos related to spec performance! it was never a bad spec, just not as good. Glad you are trying it out! With the cavoite that i did say it would be stronger than the other 2 spec, thats not the case. Warmane def didnt have things scripted anywhere near correctly as we found out haha.

Yeah execute aff and demo just blow destro out of the water. If destro had an execute ability (maybe related to soulfire) it'd be actually very competitive

@@nevoyu with the added damage from decimation, oet, and spell stone it made the hybrid a top end spec on the private servers and the old vanish wrath servers. Guessing now with not much of a execution phase its moot.

Destro has always be the way to go when undergeared. When you gear up you can play demonology, but honestly when I played in private servers I always had my orc warlock on demo affliction (starting as destruction for the gear up) and my alliance warlock has always been affliction destro regardless of the gear. I didn't care how others find the spec, Its definately fun to play spec. I dont use the soul leach in PvE because of other talents and I personally dont find it reasonable to have 5 healers and use this talent. I would definately be running it in PvP but never in PvE. Icecrown normal can easily be done with 4 or even 3 healers, the damage is not that hight to have this 5 healer demand. Just pick paladin, disc priest and resto druid and everything should be fine. Having a shadow priest is kinda mandatory to have so theres atleast one group heal supporter. I would always take a destro lock instead of a fifth healer, expecially when they are so hard to find.

If you're leveling in dungeons destro is really nice for shadowfury because it enables really big Pull's from your tank

Just go demo man. The dmg they do on AOE is broken. I bet you could already do 5k AOE dps before level 70 in average lvling gear in bigger 5 man pulls. I was doing 7-8k AOE dps at lvl 74 with shit gear. Now with 4100+ GS etc you can easily do 15-20k AOE dps even in 5 mans if you can live through the aggro or again big enough pull...

Problem with destro and affi is they aint demon...Its AOE with immolate and more dmg in form is just stupid. Easy 20-25k AOE dps on big aoe pulls (With raid buffs etc), and bosses like the 2nd one in spiderwing is just too much fun. Even if affi does more dmg on single, Id haft to re-spec to demo for some fights anyway.

Your percentages are way off at 4.3k gs with relatively decent gear doing a 2m sim 30k+ iterations etc etc the dps difference between destro and aff is 200 dps and destro is ahead of demo by a similar amount which is seen in my raid as I play all 3 for fun and more destro than the other 2 as of late and on a boss where we just sit and burn I’m usually top dps with a decent margin above our more geared demo lock. It’s a great spec and looks MUCH worse on paper than it is because of 1. The amount and skill of those playing each spec 2. How much more Aff especially scales with external buffs like tricks and pi 3. How much more dps you can squeeze out from aff by doing cheeky parsey stuff like swap msg/oh + wand for crit ones with a Firestone just to snapshot corruption at the start. Destro is very straight forward and most min/max is gear and better play, lifetap, etc, not much cheese to be had or degen parsing stuffs. 4. Infernal is MUCH weaker for destro oddly enough, sounds and feels really weird coming from destro being tied to infernal forever but in wrath empowered imp is a mighty strong talent and is one of few things we can min max a bit for extra damage and our imp does a higher % of our dps than aff’s felhunter between its own dps and buffs to you while infernal is always a big gain for destro, poorly timed on a st fight will always be a loss and can be a loss on st vs good rng/use of empowered imp so you don’t use infernal as destro until multitarget fights 5. Lastly aff scales better and deals with movement much better and more targets and spread targets and even target swap to a lesser degree since you need immolate on a target before you want to chaos bolt it or even incin. Don’t be discouraged though!! It’s still my current main lock spec I’m around 98% overall, having a blast and easily meat my raid’s expectation of non-buff lock go burr on bosses. It’s super fun, amazingly good in pvp, very refreshing and raw power wise the spec itself currently without stacking externals or weapon swap is only beaten by unholy if they get a good snapshot and aff by a rather small amount fight length depending, the shorter the better for destro and it does overtake aff at some point in shorter duration but I forget since it’s not too common and getting that short just makes unholy everyone’s god anyway lol. Oh destro is also super consistent! You’re not a badass using CDs on rip then drop for 3 minutes until they come back or obviously execute saves it. You always have pretty much full power at any point of the fight which is a strength of demo in many xpacs, you can delete individual adds or mini bosses at any point of a fight, multiple times even, every several seconds really lol and outside of those immolate and incinerate slap hard, sbolt does pretty well for aff and demo but I do enjoy just bigger hits all the time even though this tier doesn’t have a great use for it. Naxx is mostly burn boss asap, stay awake on Thad and kt and cry if you can’t get lust when you want as unholy or the external buffs you rely on as aff are controlled by real life apes and are more hassle than they’re worth and all the while destro is big chillin pimp slappin’ everything not giving a damn.

I am happy that an experienced warlock player commented under this vid. These content creators must be paid for making destro look weaker, however, its the complete opposite. Phase 1 has always been destro warlock' prime time, but u need to gear properly and ignore soul leech. Also every time i see a poorly performing warlock, he runs haste items instead of crit, which has the highest value for this spec. Destro looks weak in logs, because people don't understand the spec.

I 've just watched 9 minutes and 5 seconds of pure copium. Have 2 tier S specs and playing the meme spec is just trolling. it does a lot less dps, its so fucking expensive cause of the price of flamecaps. It brings nothing to the raid also compared to the other 2 specs witch have amazing utility. For sure if u are having fun u should play it but there is not a single serious raiding guild that has a Destro lock in their roster.
