The coolest thing about the bleach storyline. Is that the most powerful being the soul King is sacrificial for all to exist. This is a concept that people in present time do not properly understand. That the king with all his authority and power is the lowest of the totem pole because his life is forfeit for all the lives of those that are his subject. Most people think the king gets the boss people around and do what he wants and go to war and have his way but that's not at all what being king or royalty is about. It's nice that this misconception is done away with and delicately woven into this anime

I mean it’s a play on Jesus lol pretty sure majority of the world can understand the concept of the soul king and being sacrificed to save everyone else. The confusion is on whether he was a willing sacrifice because if he wasn’t it’s just hard to fathom how ANYONE could have bested him dudes abilities was absolutely ridiculous to the point that it just doesn’t really make sense. I think a lot of fans are missing what Bleach is saying here about Ichigo and the Soul King and Ywach. Ichigo was special, but its not his war. He doesnt care what the inner workings of Soul Society are, his focus is only on his family abd friends. Ichigo is us in the story. While adults and elders use us as pawns of their war, the best and only thing we should do is protect family and friends. The world is a horrible place, and no matter how strong you are, there are some things we cannot change.

It's interesting and thematically meaningful how Soul Society is a necrocracy at it's core, that is the powers to be follow the will of long dead ancestors with little to no change or compromise. Ichibei will continue with this just as he did since time immemorial. It's also ironic that Ichibei used Yhwach's corpse as the new King, more so since Yhwach feared death yet even he would've embraced it and be buried than endure the King's fate. Still, Ichigo may still find out the truth especially given that sinister visage of him the hell chapter.

@@manuelacosta9463 I mean, by a revelation as horrible as that it’s difficult to say if Ichigo would see the soul reapers in a different light than before. His best friend Rukia is clearly not content with it and neither would Renji be. This is a crisis that needs to be dealt with instead of accusations against one another. There is a color spread where Ichigo and the entire gang venture into the depths of hell. Probably to confront the problem at the root.

Ichigo knows, but he doesn't care. He got the soul king's memories at Irazu Sando, so he knows. If his friends are safe, his family is fine, then he doesn't care if Soul Society is a stagnant mess millions of years old or if the cycle of souls makes people suffer. Not caring or debating it makes makes him more shallow on my eyes, especially since one of Yhwach's reasons for doing all this is due to his power allowing him to understand the helplessness and existential dread the current system forces onto humans.

The soul reapers in their reign have messed up big time for centuries no doubt. But why should the current generation pay for all of this. You said it yourself Ichigo only care about his family and friends. If he were to seriously question or debate. Bleach would be in a constant war, like conflict is inevitable which it is . By your logic you'd suggested Ichigo actually joining Yhwach for the simple sake of it.

@Grayson-Winchester Call out the shinigami on the stagnation their systems promote, gain some understanding why those systems exist, use the goodwill he accumulated to promote positive change. Minimalistically, he could empathize enough from having lived as a powerless human and then present his own thoughtful arguments on why he fighting Yhwach, rather than just power through. Right now it feels like he is fighting because this changes the status quo he knows, he is afraid of that and so he will not stand for it, which makes him feel generally uninterested in why its all happening.

@@KaiserAfini fair points but Ichigo still has his own life going on as he’s also a human. Reformations are slowly all being done by the likes of Urahara and Kyoraku. Also Ichigo already brought change to soul society. Hitsugaya confirmed Yamamoto changed because of him. Ichigo is already regarded as a legendary hero that will go down in history. A role model to the next generation of Gotei 13. Ichigo did give arguments to Yhwach as to why he fights him. He is going to protect what he holds dear like always.

The immortality of ichibe is the same as that of Lilie Barro. It is related to SK/Ywach. Lillie is most likely immortal in Wanderich only. This makes his immortality and that of the royal guard balanced and consistent story wise

Spiritual pressure in Bleach works propably as mana and currency to intestify ones abilities. Before hogyoku Aizen couldn't fight all the top captains of Soul Society witout running out of Spiritual pressure. Ichibe propably needs time to increase his spiritual pressure to the level is was before to be usefull in a fight and because he doesn't know Ywah has a weakness he thinks it's imposible to beat him anyway. I bet there is some seal in place that works on someone with the properties of the Soul King so Ichibe was waiting for Ichigo to lose and get consumed by Ywah to activate the seal.

Mayuri can always justify his shit with "for the sake of seireit". Ichibei is just the legal boss of the overall system. I have a question. If the plan was for Ichigo to lose and then be made into the new soul king, but how were they planning to stop Yhwach? If They make Ichigo into the Soul king, but wouldn't Yhwach just kill him before or after that? It seems like a major flaw in this plan.

ichibei planned to make ywach ichigo fight and the loser will die and the weakened winner will be made reio. thats why he let gotei 13 fight in his place so that he can save power.

Remember before tonight, Nanao Bankai was hinted at in the Beast Sword Fiend Filler Arc, and its most likely more like Ichibei Zanpakuto than one forged by Ohetsu, and that Lisa Yado aru is also a niece of Shunsui and maybe the Kenpachi killed by Azashiro. Most likely Tsunishiro from CFYOW , pushed that execution also

I believe it’s implied that the royal guard can revive as long as the soul king is around. And the same for the Schutzstaffel. They were actually defeated several times by Squad Zero, but long as Bach is around he can revive them and make them stronger. So defeating them without defeating Bach was the issue. It doesn’t mean the Squad was weak.
