I've been boxing for 30 years, im 52 and in the first 45 seconds of each round for 3 rounds I'm just as dangerous and powerful as i was when 25 years old. Think about that for a minute, tyson is not a typical 58 year old. The only reason this goes longer than 2 rounds is because mike lets it happen. The reflex thing is true but it is different from person to person. Mike will win with ease.

As Larry Merchant said, fighters with that style, short and explosive, have very short primes. Marciano won the title in 1952 and retired after just 6 defenses in 1955. He retired when he was only 32. Joe Frazier aged 26 won the title and was 29-0 before he lost. The war vs Ali took it all out of him. Losing the Foreman was the beginning of the end. He was WBC champ from 1970-1973 but was NYSAC champ from 1968. He finished with 32 wins, so only won 3 fights after losing his title, going 3-4-1. When he retired he was about 32, and came back once at 37. Tyson won the title way younger than Marciano and Frazier and his reign was around the same amount of years, 5 years, 86-90. He also had a second short reign after 3 years away from boxing. In his prime he was 35-0 and on the way down was when he got rid of Kevin Rooney where he went 5-1 before going to jail. He was 10-5-0-2 after jail. So he started earlier as a pro than both Marciano and Frazier and found on quite a few years longer than them too. Then you add into the equation that Mike for years had a very serious alcohol and cocaine addiction. And even the last few years has been smoking an amazing amount of weed and taking toad LSD type of stuff. His body will not be able to take the punishment boxing gives and his lungs will not have the capacity to do a pro fight against a younger man. Even if Jake Paul has poor stamina due to his weight increase, he will be able to dig deeper at his age to win. Finally, just consider the amount of energy small explosive heavyweights have to put in to training. It takes its toll on their back and they are always at a height and weight disadvantage so sparring is very hard against big guys, and then the actual fights as well. Wear and tear shortens their prime. They often have to take some to get in range and usually retire in their early 30s. Mike went on until he was 39.

I watched Mike when back in the 90's. He was on another level, a very special talent, something we won't see again for a long time. I will never understand the conversation about this fight. Jake Paul is certainly no Kevin McBride not even Danny williams who was a regional champion. But Mike had openly admitted to giving up and was hardly able to compete athletically in his final two fights. That was a longer period of time than a majority of viewers of this video have even been alive. THINK about that. Jake has the money to afford a lifestyle where he can invest in his new brand which is a boxing. Lacking An amateur pedigree is troublesome UNLESS you can afford to train constantly to he way he can given his popularity and money. A developing fighters problem is ALWAYS funding and time. Jake uniquely has that solved. I’ve never understood why boxing fans refuse to see yes he’s entered in a non traditional way and he has flaws but he has the means and resources to genuinely iron those out. Bc he’s not a prototypical boxer, we assume he’s not doing so but the thing is, he is. He’s not a world beater, but he can afford quality camps and smart trainers who teach him things others developing never could afford. You can’t hate him all you want but even hardcore fans are diluting the great minds behind him. Do I rate Jake on his own without brilliant ppl helping? Not really no he’s not a natural gifted boxer. But I do know he works hard and can afford to bring in Shane Mosley. Do I believe in Shane mosleys and his ability to mould Jake as he did for the Nate Diaz fight? Youre gd right. He can afford to expedite the process of learning fundamentals. So on its face, a reasonably well trainer boxer who may not be regional champion level but could atleast look like he belong that is very athletic and in good shape beats ANY MAN twice his age. Without question. It’s tantamount to simply denying science and biochemistry. You can’t lose that much and still be a fraction of yourself. And by the looks of who he was as a boxer 20 years ago, losing many steps from there is alarming. Tyson especially with cus was indeed a world conqueror. But it’s just life to age - there’s no pitchforks for that. It’s been sanctioned that’s not your fault: and now that it has there’s only one outcome and it’s going to be a sad sad day unfortunate for me and many others who grew up watching Mike be the youngest to ever wear the crown. I don’t want that outcome but denying its reality is utterly delusional. That being said, what I’ve always said about this fight is Mike is one of the rare athletes where legitimately his aura and legend factors in. There’s going to be an inkling of doubt Jake has star struck by Mike. Bc there’s no doubt he is. He has admitted before well before this was even discussed as a boxer Tyson was always captivating to him. If Tyson is RELENTLESS is the opening round especially the first exchanges, that could solidify the doubt. His parachute would not open and I truly doubt he’d be able to do anything at all beyond round 1 if he did that but I actually think he has a shot if he can rush Jake who has never been under that kind of pressure. Jake will likely have trained for that but it doesn’t make it any easier to handle. You can negative the age gap by delivering a burst of intensity that I actually do think mike is physically still capable of. Difference being of course 38 years ago (yes you read that right 38 years ago) Mike was able to sustain probably the highest level of shear aggression for ten straight rounds I’ve ever actually witnessed vs Ribalta - up there with Tua vs Ibeabuchi. Those days are not even remotely possible but for 60 seconds? I think he can and that’s his path here. Break Jake’s will, catch him with shots that even a 69 year old Mike will do damage but knowing if you don’t land here you won’t have anything left and just hope Jake sees there’s no way to weather the storm and all that time watching Mike is embedded into each of his punches. He can momentarily break him. Against a well schooled amateur turned pro he’ll have his long history of bouts to fall back on and easily stand up to this pressure. But that is uniquely something Jake lacks. The experience to handle high pressure. This isn’t a cop out either 95/100 Jake wins this EASY. But there are those 5 that while seem statistically unlikely it’s more just if Mike sees the opening to exert his energy. I think winning for Mike is highly possible but the risks to even open that door makes Mike actually doing it nearly impossible. But if he does open that door, it’s now a coin flip if they are furiously trading 1 minute in to round 1. And then all the way shut if Jake survives as he’ll easily walk to a win if Mike can’t get him round 1.

This Jake only fighting retired MMA fighters or youtube boxers , The hardest fight for him is with Tommy Fury and he fails . Now he will fight 58 Mike !!! I’m happy for Mike because he will get paid . Jake is trying to get recognition in boxing with this fight but he will not get it. If he wants to be a real boxer he should fight boxers in cruiser wight and he will fail for sure .
