He can see clearly the jealousy that drives some hatred but he cannot seem to apply that same keen vision to the other aspects of human nature that have driven the hatred of Black Americans and created enormous inequities that are perpetuated by a feedback loop of Americans misunderstanding of dominant white society’s continued part in keeping those inequities alive and well. Jews were never hated in India for several reasons: 1) their numbers were so small, most Indians were completely unaware of them; 2) the Jews were fiercely loyal to India and Hindus. Jews were permitted to build synagogues and were not harassed. From the very beginnings of Jewish settlement in India, they engaged in professions which benefitted Hindu rulers including the military, espionage, trade, education and even entertainment. Wealthy Jews built libraries and other institutions which were open to all Indians. In the Indian military there were Jewish generals. One such prominent man was General Jacobs who was THE instrumental person who got the Israelis to aid India in a war with Pakistan even though there was no diplomatic relationship between India and Israel at the time. He was also prominent in the Bangladesh liberation war. Jewish actors were prominent in early days of Indian cinema and the first Miss India was Jewish. Jewish interaction with India went as far back as King Solomon who sent trading ships to India. There was never a conflict of interest between Jews and Hindus. In fact, in the days when Portugal had colonies in India, Jews living in those regions left and relocated to Hindu controlled areas due to attempts to re-institutionalize the Inquisition by the Portuguese against Jews had been living in those Portuguese controlled areas. Since neither Jews nor Hindus proselytize neither group felt threatened by the other. Today, Israelis feel a strong bond with Indians and during times of natural disaster, have sent large medical teams to aid Indian civilians desperate for help. Indian music, films and all manner of entertainment are extremely popular in Israel. Indian popular music is played at many venues and street fairs. Indian dance and yoga is extremely popular in Israel as well. The Indian holiday of Holi is celebrated in several Israeli cities and Jews of Indian descent are prominent in them, along with Indian companies doing business in Israel. Today, Israelis and Indians have extensive trading, training, education and workforce agreements. Israeli agricultural teams have trained Indian farmers in methods which have greatly increased crop yield and quality as well as water conservation. They also face a common enemy in Islamism and Islamic terror.

As a Jew and huge Thomas Sowell fan, these things were largely true up until the progressive era. But when the Jews decided to make communism and progressivism a core tenant of their faith after they abandoned orthodoxy and became secular, much of the dislike of Jews today, and this was true for the Nazis, is the not entirely inaccurate generalization that Jews are socialists. Ironically the most Jewish Jews are largely, but not entirely, conservative in their political leanings. Sowell's greatness is his ability to simply seemingly complex issues. But anti-semitism today is multi layered and not as simple as he makes it. When names like Soros, Weinstein, Epstein, Vindman, Schumer, Feinstein, Kagan, etc etc etc fill the news, this has progressed far beyond simple jealousy.

Very well said. I personally don’t exactly believe the notion that Jews run the world. But there are instances that understandably fuel that flame. I just read a report not long ago about a leaked group chat (I believe it was through the WhatsApp service) that involved over 20 American billionaires, every one of whom was Jewish, conspiring to put together bribery packages and delivery methods to Eric Adams to put pressure on the NYPD to make arrests of anti-Zionist protestors on college campuses throughout NYC.

Thanks for your comment. You seldom hear anyone acknowledge that there is much nuance or complexity to this issue, which, of course, there is (though Sowell's point factors in). The truth lies somewhere in between the overly simplistic and one-sided explanations typically given by either side. A more honest discussion would greatly help relations, in my view, though I can understand some of the trepidation regarding the risks involved in doing so.

I've never hated anyone's success; but I do dislike intensely any group that uses their history, wealth or heritage as a basis or circumventing the merit process for getting ahead. so Lets say, a position is available at Harvard or West Point; and my daddy buys me that Harvard seat by bribing Harvard with a donation or my daddies political connections are able to get the Senator to give that West Point appointment on the basis of political contributions. Other groups give advantage to people in their poltical, ethnic, racial, religious or wealth - as far as I am concerned they are all criminals and should go to prison because they destroy the system of merit.

I, not Jewish, know a Jewish family that grew up poor. All the kids became very successful. Not a perfect family by any means but by busting their ass each laid down a foundation that allowed them to take advantage of opportunities when they became available. I’m still close friends with one of them. Note: no generational wealth needed.

Three companies led by Dual Citizens at StateStreet/Vanguard and BlackRock are going to own 60% of all US Single Family Homes by 2030... This is done while their friends at the Federal Reserve (many Dual Citizens) give them loans *well under 1% interest*. While raising interest to the point house payments have doubled for the new American home buyer in a _VERY_ short period of time. It's nice that the FBI has *FINALLY* started going after the price fixing where those colluding _AGAINST_ market forces that *should be* forcing rent to drop (increasing vacancies) but honestly, the sentiment is quietly building into a broiling anger with an understanding by the general populace that they are obviously being exploited. After being thrown out of over 1000 city states you'd think that a certain group would have some hubris and self-awareness. As a group they must finally be aware that they may eventually lose the tolerance to be exploited by yet another large group of people. There is a difference between victim mentality and actual exploitation. These "victim mentalities", when they've had enough of being exploited, I fear will be steered right at one particular group once the coming boiling point is reached.

Every time I listen to him I learn something. That's not always true when you get older, you've heard a lot. I've always admired the Jews myself. They raise smart, well mannered children. @@rachelstern9649 European (Christian) and Arab/Turkic (Islamic) hatred of jews is mostly theological. Hindus never had a problem so long as they were left alone regarding their religion. Jews who were in India existed mostly as trading/banking communities for the trade with middle east ( & latter China during EIC). However they were just a small part of this since the Marwari Jain and Hindu communities from Western India were far more dominant. So there was no need for envy. In modern India Hindus admire jews for their scientific and educational accomplishments and the Hindu right wing in India admires Israels ability to defend themselves against all odds. It also helps that most of these people do not know about the roles that leftwing American jewish people play in Wokeism, neo-conservatism, militaristic foreign intervention, support for Islamic appeasement and most importantly caricaturization of Hindu religion in American academia as a sex cult. For the learned individual it's not so much of hating or dislike of jews but rather those individuals and organizations who propped themselves up to be jewish, Christian, Muslim but in truth represent an entirely different belief system. When one takes the time to understand history and the roles played throughout one will come to the conclusive and awareness as to who these perpetrators are. I greatly respect Sowell, and admire Jews generally for their accomplishments and endurance. At the same time, I think Sowell misses or glosses over an important point: As a religious skeptic--among, I think, a growing number of nonbelievers worldwide--the Jews' claims of Yahweh-given privilege and entitlement in relation to other peoples are unpersuasive. These claims disincline Jews to assimilate and live in a world and on equal terms with their neighbors. We have seen Zionists' claims that Palestine belongs to them and their use of terrorist tactics (Irgun, The Stern Gang, Haganah, Lehi) and military force to eject Palestinians from territories not originally granted to the Jews in 1948. The Jews, as I see matters, have shown a clear intent to expel Palestinians from the entirety of Palestine and perhaps beyond (see the Eretz Yisrael movement). If one subtracts any religious justification for the Jews' assertion of their race-based special privilege and entitlement (as I and many others do), then what remains appears to be only egregious--and in their claims in the "Promised Land" avaricious and murderous--racism. Such racist behavior leads non-believers like myself to conclude that anti-Semitism is mainly the creation of Jews' themselves through their words, actions and condescending self-isolation.

Thomas is an intelligent man and very enlightening in many ways. But I believe he is oversimplifying the case against the Jews. The obvious parts he lays out well, their ability to acquire and multiply money which is quickly perceived as greed and underhanded dealing in many ways. The truth of which only God Himself can judge. That the use and misuse of money can generate enormous evil is evident worldwide. But unfettered materialism causes rampant chaos everywhere it is allowed to flourish without thought of consequences. And then there is the Jesus factor. There is a reason no one, well almost no one, names their son Judas. Personally I love God's chosen people. And especially the ones who have chosen Yeshua, Jesus Christ. Godspeed pilgrims. In the end He will judge.

That's true he describes 1 of many facets to antisemitism but it's so old, and it shape-shifts according 😊 current mass shadow consciousness at the time. Whatever the masses have a hard time healing and changing, that's what has always been projected onto Jews. And no one ever wants to admit that modern antisemitism which goes back over 2,000 years, came from the New Testament. Roman propaganda and a made-up Messiah to suppress and mock the Jewish prophecies, turned people away from Judaism, and back to the Roman Empire. But no one really wants to talk about it, except ex-Christians who become Noahides. Even Jews won't discuss it, it's common knowledge fo those who study Jewish and Roman history.
