Happy Malaysia Day! So good to see everyone there enjoying themselves! (Unfortunately my family was down with cough and cold so we stayed at home instead) Yes, "battle gasing" was very common especially among kids while growing up, but the tops are a lot smaller, around a 7 yr old kid's fist size. There was a time gasing was banned in my school because some home made ones were too dangerously pointy (long nails) so no one were allowed to battle without teacher's supervision (which is rare), so we stick to batu seremban "battles" (see who last the longest without missing a stone - I was horrible at it but my classmates were champs - using real road-side-found stones). haha.
