It's in the water, it would just electrocute everything.
@BigDaddy-yp4mi29 күн бұрын
@@Dankrhymer You almost got it. It would ground out as a radius around the anode. But by doing this, it's very weak because it's effectively "grounded", like when wet grass touches the fence. It's grounded from there onward. By doing it in saltwater, you make your sacrificial anodes completely useless. Differing metals in an acidic solution will produce electrical currents. Every metal used for durability is almost always exclusively an alloy, several metals, at a minimum. If you don't arrange it so that something cheap can discharge stray, natural currents, you hull, or sidewalls, or your motor could become the next weakest metal (atomically) and THAT is what will corrode. You would render thousands upon thousands of dollars in corrosion control equipment useless and ineffective at it's one and only job. Remember, every system and every piece of metal in a boat is isolated from ground as well as having a grounding system. DC baby. AC for higher energy engine room stuff and larger boats. Otherwise, safer, easier, cheaper, more convenient to use DC in a boat.

I was a commercial fisherman in Alaska for about 30 years. Both longline and trawl. While trawling, I never caught an orca, or even heard of any vessels catching an orca. While longlining, there were many interactions. There were times when there were so many whales that we couldn't even fish. Especially when we were targeting Turbot and Sablefish, both deep water species that would normally be difficult for orcas to catch. These fish were, apparently, a delicacy. As to the sailboat problem I'll say this: Orcas are smart and they communicate; if a few orcas were to be killed in the act of harassing sailboats, the problem would likely end.

Orcas are a species that communicate past stories to each other. That is like fishing on the Oregon coast and the Columbia River, the Sealions steal Salmon off your hook. They also go to Just below Boniville Dam and wait for them to slow down during fish run to spawn. They have caught them and hauled them back to California where they came from but they are back in a week

They are being starved, so they are moving. It’s a real problem. More a human problem as we’re clearly tipping resource scales, and that’s not sustainable for us either, and our ocean farming practices are lazy and irresponsible causing just as many problems.

@@OK-pi6fq Hogwash even if they were starving they would not think a boat is prey

I would imagine 50,000 volts from a coil would keep them away.

Maybe if you teach one orca a lesson, it will teach that lesson to the others

That seems like it would be very hard, a little like trying to teach your dog to dance, which is nearly impossible considering dogs have two left feet. Wait..... what was the question?

I think it's more like the humans are raiding the orcas food.

This is precisely what's wrong with the world. Somehow, things got turned 180 degrees.

By Chinese auditory warnings you mean sticks of dynamite or machine guns?
