I'm French and discovered Popeye's biscuits (and chicken) by moving to the UK, because it's one of the chicken fast food chains that are halal. The discovery was life-changing. Their biscuits are GORGEOUS when fresh (they can be a bit dry when they're not, it's true... not to the extent the memes make them out to be, but just a little). Now, I'm spending a month back in France for the holidays, and I'm already missing my Popeye's 😭 Now, I know why Americans went crazy for their food, a while ago. You guys tend to be... a bit on the excessive side, sometimes, but I must admit Popeye's food is worth it.

I do like their biscuits. I've made scratch biscuits many times, but they never turn out like this. I think though that my favorite biscuits came from Bob Evans. We had breakfast there many years ago while on vacation if FLA. Our family went through a few baskets of them.

Bojangles makes their biscuits from scratch, every 20 minutes. Popeyes biscuits come par-cooked and frozen. They are heated for 15 minutes at 350. I'll take the scratch-made every time.

Popeyes biscuits are kinda hit or miss to be honest. If you get them fresh out of the oven they are fantastic but if they sit they are down right terrible. There really isn’t any middle ground.

For years my favorite meal at Popeyes was half a dozen biscuits and a large dirty/Cajun rice. Yep, no chicken. Recently stopped in for this meal only to find that Popeyes no longer sells the dirty/Cajun rice. HUGE disappointment and have not been back into Popeyes since.
