This Is Why the JLTV Is Such a Badass Military Vehicle

The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) is a U.S. Military (Specifically U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps) and the U.S. Special Operations Command program to part-replace the Humvee with a family of more survivable vehicles with greater payload. Early studies for the JLTV program were approved in 2006. The JLTV program incorporates lessons learned from the earlier Future Tactical Truck Systems program and other associated efforts.
The JLTV follows the U.S. Army's Long Term Armor Strategy with kits for two armor protection levels. Oshkosh's L-ATV was selected as the winner of the JLTV program in August 2015 and awarded an initial production contract for up to 16,901 JLTVs. The U.S. Army approved the JLTV for full-rate production in June 2019.

Need to fix the hydraulic issue o rings often bust and the rubber mount under the engine needs to be thicker, had to pull the engine for cracked oil pan! Just cuz of the design

Are the end users allowed/able/trained to fully repair the vehicles without the private contractor always present? It doesn't matter how good it is if service members can't fix it without running into proprietary issues that only the contractor is legally allowed to fix.

All vehicle designs are owned by the government. They are built to government specs. All also come with a manual and tools also on the dsdu there are repair tools you can look up

Service members can get licenses, and then there’s an MOS for motor transport operators, and another one for mechanics
