They're like a team full of liberos. Their defense is superb!

A team like that is a better iron wall than any set of three blockers lol Wait not iron wall more like iron carpet since they dont block but keep the ball from hitting the court
@niwdeonirep47154 жыл бұрын
I loved the comment likening all of them as liberos, which is very true. The defense is great. There should be entry of much taller, much stronger spikers for offense though. My respects for Japan.
@grad6grade4 жыл бұрын
@@koencagurangan3256 Your comment only reflects the Narcissism from a Japanese fan. The fact is that the current team Japan lacks the competitiveness for podium. The volleyball is a team sport that need the balance of offense vs defense, and speed vs height. I do admire all Japanese players's defense skill on the floor level. But they have to increase their height and develop their middle blockers. Blocking is the most intimidating thing against opponents in volleyball.
@koencagurangan32564 жыл бұрын
grad6grade Sorry if my comment came off wrong m8, but yes i do now agree that they probably should develop blocking, since it puts that feeling of “oh shit what do i do” into an opponent spiker and if they can’t react quick enough then they’d might as well be spiking into their own court. Also, it’s true a team must have a balance of offense and defense, a team that’s all offense and no defense is gonna get scored on A LOT, and a team that’s all defense and no offense is just gonna play until they wear themselves out

Miyashita should be the first setter of Japan. She has impeccable floor defense and knows how to activate her middle attackers.
@mirieshii19484 жыл бұрын
Their head coach, Nakada, was a setter before so she must have seen something in Sato.
@frenchgarvida56394 жыл бұрын
Yeah I saw a video here on youtube featuring her and miyashita but it was on japanese. Good thing miyashita is back on the japan team and getting some court time. I just cant see any skills that sato is better than miyashita. Miyashita has played pressure packed games and against the strongest of teams. I dont get why she was removed then.
@Pabstorres19924 жыл бұрын
I have to disagree on this one. Sato is a better setter than miyashita now. In terms of defense, miyashita got the edge on top of the net but floor defense is kind to hard to tell since both players are really good it's just haruka has a flashier style im digging but sato has good reflexes as well. What i like about sato's setting is that she is good at saving overpasses. She has more connection to her spikers as well maybe due to more playing time than miyashita but during VNL miyashita has a game where she started the game but getting replaced by sato. Since 2017, haruka is not delivering much in terms of setting so they put tominaga who did a great job during that time and sato improved a lot specially this 2019 2020 games they participated.
@frenchgarvida56394 жыл бұрын
I think tominaga did great too. Im still for haruka, there are games too that sato is being replaced by haruka. Sato’s setting for me is just too predictable. And her connection with the middle spikers is not that great.
@mirieshii19484 жыл бұрын
@@frenchgarvida5639 Sato took over during 2018 upto 2019. I've never seen Haruka play a whole set in world cup 2019 either. So maybe there's just something about Sato. Or simply a personal preference by Nakada. Maybe they understand each other more in terms of coaching.

They need budget for more advanced training facilities. Japan got all the technologies they need in practice and of course a solid program to develop players. Japan is like a factory of athletes. Japanese Team in WV always excel when it comes to a solid floor defense. Their agility, quick thinking, calm demeanor, and presence of mind make up for their height disadvantage. They are always up against towering competitors, but I have never seen them or felt from them that they are being intimidated. And you can always feel their tenacity in every gameplay. It's like their motto is "it is not over until the ball does not hit the floor". The way they save the ball is like their life is on the line. They have already produced many remarkable Liberos, such as the likes of Yuko Sano, Arisa Sato, and Inoue. This is why the Japanese Team is my favorite team of all. While many fans worship offense, I am always in awe of defense in Volleyball.❣️
