Stayed there in November for 6 days. . Super hotel. Lots of storage and and very helpful staff. Lounge is great as is Madison and vine. Also the book end bar. Super location.

Hope you enjoy our review of The Library Hotel. We wouldn’t recommend it due to size, comfort, and noise but the location was great.

I'm sorry you weren't comfortable but what exactly could the hotel's management do about construction out on the street?

Hi Bob. If I were management I would have started by leasing hotel guests know and try and move them to higher rooms on the other side of the building to start. If that wasn’t an option I would have comped them a night stay at the very least. Wouldn’t have been as upset if they would have shown even a little bit of empathy which they did not. It was just very poor customer service all around.

@@adventuresofjandk There's some merit in what you said. I don't know if management necessarily knew in advance about the street work. It's NYC, stuff gets done all the time without much notice. I grew up there so I guess I don' t see these things as unusual. I agree some comping would have been a nice gesture.

There really is no place like home, at least for a good night of sleep. Excellent location, as we said, just not the right hotel for us. It was so warm in our room we left the window open most of the day to cool it off, and it was only 28 degrees a couple of the days. We were only on the 5th floor, not sure why it was so hot.

Well, you are honest, it's not for you. Big city noise is not for everyone and it was shear bad luck that street construction was going on whilst you were staying there. The room size is pretty much the same as some European cities, I wouldn't have a issue with that but the jack hammer till dawn, wow! Yep, absolute bad luck.

Growing up on Long Island in the boonies, I would never stay in a hotel in New York. I could not adjust to all that noise!!!

We knew it would be noisy outside but had no idea we wouldn’t get any sleep for days. We would never stay there again that is for sure.

Maybe just an apology but we didn’t even get that. If I were a hotel owner I would have at the very least cut the rate. They did nothing.
