Rudnik is lucky to have such an attentive mom. If he had just been part of a herd that could have ended up much worse for him. Luckily you are there and watch over him completely not just as an animal to ride. Props to you for staying on top of ALL his needs, his nickering was his way of telling you he cares too.

Good to know that this was an old injury that you chose to share now. At first, I was saying, "Oh no," new place drama😮. I'm so glad this was in the past. But seeing the end of the video, I was rolling my eyes and thinking, "No wonder you got hurt running around like a silly thing, bucking, kicking, snorting, and farting like a young colt." 😂

It's truly amazing how delicate horses are as far as their health. My friend had some very expensive cutting horses and water contamination in her portion of a stream on her property from a neighboring farmer who raised various grazing animals upstream caused severe health problems, including blindness, in her most expensive horse. She was always worried about their health and was constantly assessing their needs and care just like you do with Rudnik. It's strange to think that so powerful an animal is actually very susceptible to health issues. Ruddy healed nicely though. I definitely think mischief helps healing!!! You take such fabulous care of him .Rudster and baby are so lucky to have such a great mommy!!!

Ouch, gracious, Rudnik, you do play hard and bonk yourself or annoy a buddy into biting you, doncha!? Love that you did not get forceful at any point, and were so patient with his dislike of that spray. Who can blame him about that tho, it has to be easily felt, maybe not even stinging but hot or cold etc. Horses ahve very sensitive skin after all. Maybe mix the drench with applejuice or some such so it tastes better? might ahve to give him two swirts but he might not curl his lips in disgust either, lol

My horses had tiny little cut in his leg, and the following day the size of his leg was double. I cleaned the wound with mms and put a thick layer of green clay on his leg, from bottom to shoulder. The next day his leg recovered the normal size. I just continued to clean the wound with mms twice a day. No cold water hoosing, no wrapping, no vet. I hope this info helps for you in the future😊

💚 I hate to say it but...Boys will be boys! They play rougher and get into all kinds of things. If you have a Boy you will find out about this.💚 I love my boys - both son and Dog. I did scouts with my son, my dog is much better at the dog park than the bitches. I'm grateful for that. Hugs to you mama and Rudnik too.

I used to use Dr. Naylors Udder Balm. It worked very well on reducing scars. Wonder Dust for open wounds, too. So many products out there, but these have been available for a very long time.

Oh our 4 legged babies somehow some way they ALWAYS manage to get themselves in the craziest situations & in my humble opinion,this is especially true for our boys!!(my boy pup somehow managed to get himself stung by either bees or wasps several years ago and that was quite the ordeal 🙈)😂😂Rudnik did you go & get yourself injured (secretly I think they know that being hurt means extra cuddles)I saw his wound and I was like “oof yep ok time for LOTS of cold water,a good clean & some heavy antiseptic ( moms a nurse,dads a fire chief & having had many falls over the years bc of my disability)which lead to quite a few war wounds I’ve learned a thing or two. Question have you ever put any Manuka honey on any injuries he’s had like this?? Haha the fact that he dragged his hay bag around and was mooching treats had me going “ok phew he’s not THAT injured”😂😁oh Seuintje (young boy)no more drama with hurting yourself!! lol thanks for answering my question in the video,yay for Butte👏🏻💙🖤🐎❤️🩹

Wise old guy told me 40 years ago "Horses are born looking for a way to get hurt." This was included in a 3-species set of truths, he said. "Sheep are born looking for a way to die" and "Goats are born looking for a way out." That last was accompanied by a long and very funny set of directions for building a good goat fence around here. It ended with 'Then you take a bucket of water and throw it at the fence, and if any water gets through, so will a goat."
@rudniktheroanАй бұрын
😂😂 I will not argue with the statement about horses. It really does feel like they are on the lookout everyday for new ways to injure themselves

@jenniferharris7633Ай бұрын
That's an odd place to get bit. The other horse would have had to have its face in between Rud's front legs, LOL.
@rudniktheroanАй бұрын
If horses are standing beside each other, chest to chest, they will reach their head down/around towards another horses front legs to nip and that’s likely how this one occurred as you could see the teeth marks on either side of his leg there
@patperrier4599Ай бұрын
Manuka honey is a great help for wounds. But he's probably tired of it.

@rudniktheroanАй бұрын
It’s the left but it’s inverted depending which camera is used
@IflieАй бұрын
He's so silly, hasn't learned a thing from his bite. Luckily horses heal well from the most crazy skin wounds, they seem a lot tougher on the outside than when it's something like indigestion on the inside. He's out there acting like he's superhorse.
@sfuta2005Ай бұрын
I’m very confused. The first part of the video, the wound can clearly be seen, and is being treated, on his upper left leg. Then at 3:40, you’re bandaging his upper right leg and a wound is visible there 5:01. 🤷🏻♀️ And then at 7:15 it’s back on his left leg. 😳
@rudniktheroanАй бұрын
That part of the video is obviously mirrored then depending which camera is being used…
@sfuta2005Ай бұрын
@@rudniktheroan Wow, can you believe I never noticed that in my own mirror! Just looked it up - it’s called “lateral inversion”. Cool!

My secret trick for healing wounds is bioactive manuka honey. I use it as a wet dressing. You'd be shocked at how effective it is at pulling Infection & inflammation out of any kind of skin issue. The best Manuka will be one with really high bioactive rating. There are a few things to look for so search for articles about which factors/ratings to look for. I have a portable sauce container for lunches I use to keep Manuka in for wound care. You want to put it in something you can squeeze a bead or line of honey out of to make applying it easy. I get the bandage set first, securing it on one side & touching gauze to wound. This shows me where to squeeze & drop the honey on the gauze. I don't try put the honey on the wound. Then wrap it up, sealing the edges to keep the honey inside the dressing. I usually leave it for 24 hours, and then change the dressing. You won't need any other ointments, antibiotics, etc. The natural hydrogen peroxide does a very good job. For any wounds that need to granulate from the inside out & fill in like the wound did after cleaning, manuka is top notch. I've healed some serious gashes up on myself and multiple various critters. Manuka just has me treat wounds differently. Invaluable part of my aresenal.

I'm sorry but I cannot read the bottom of the video because it is too small and the wrong color - If you made the text box black, and changed to a thicker font, it would be easier to read. Thank you.

So much better your vids when you're speaking in them. Your subtitles run too long and too fast to read.
