I am reading the book and am enjoying it. My oldest son has a dual diagnosis of bipolar and schizophrenia. He was not diagnosed until he was almost 17. We knew there was something going on but here in the US they didn’t diagnose until the person were in their 20’s at the earliest. I thank God we found a doctor who was very familiar with mental illness. He asked us to trust him in his treatment and it was the best thing ever. Our son is now living a “normal” life. Thank you for sharing your journey.

It's a universal dianostic standard. First break psychosis can happen in teens, if treated it can ward off the onset of regulat schizophrenia for makes late 20s. Bipolar is not diagnosed until age 18. Before that the disorders can go 2 different ways as the brain grows. That's why the DSM is used world wide.

They do come across as being a great couple. My husband and I had relationship like theirs. BUT he waited until he was on hid death bed to tell me that I was the love of his life. When I complained once that he was not very romantic. His response was. I plant your favorite flowers in the garden. And take care of them. You get the last word on houses when we get transferred. I do many things to make you happy. Then for awhile I was given flowers delivered from the florist But then I had to say they were not near as pretty as the ones in my yard.
