I suppose if you're a speed runner it can be annoying tht one wrong input destroys everything (although I don't know exactly how speedruns look like, maybe they somehow don't fight at all), but for a casual player it was glorious.

The movements are easy but the wiimote was garbage that didn't properly register them. The only way to make it sort of work was to recalibrate every 2 minutes and that's a whole other terrible experience.

This is exactly how i felt the first time i played the game. I wasn't just lightly moving the wii remote, i was full on using it as a real sword with exagerated moves. This game is really close to my heart, because unlike the other games, i wasn't just playing as Link, I WAS LINK I'm really happy to see someone else having such fun with it (even if i've arrived quite late at the video xD)

I’m almost at the end of the game, and the motion controls only do what I want half the time, but I quite enjoy it despite the frustration because it’s unique in the Zelda franchise and makes you feel more involved. I also love the lore and the flying and all the side quests but I digress. Took away from the experience a bit but still pretty enjoyable for me

Id say it does, plus it has some slight quality of life updates that make it better. I dont know all the changes, but i believe the tutorial is shorter and you dont get item descriptions popping up every time you get an item anymore :)

I played both skyward and twilight. Twilight Princess was very wholesome but at moments it was annoying because of some sword techniques, like the shield hit, and aiming with the sensor. Even if i really liked it, when i played the HD version with a pro controller everything was soooooo easy and so nice. But even with Skyward on Switch and a pro controller, the sword experience feels sometimes very weird, i just think sometimes innovating can become really annoying. I recently played BOTW, TP and SS in like 2 months and OMG it's just so annoying that the controlls are so different between each others .

Skyward Sword sat firmly towards the bottom of all Zelda games in its original Wii motion-based form, but I always felt it had a better story, characters and emotional beats than other games in the series. Skyward Sword HD elevated the game a lot to me with its more traditional controls. There are still some irritating elements like the multiple battles against The Imprisoned and runs up Death Mountain to the Fire Sanctuary, but the better controls even make those more tolerable.

i haven’t beat ghirahim’s “final form”/demise and i kind of want to start a new save file but like… it feels weird to start a new file before finishing the first one. i want to get the hylian shield for that fight but i took a break from the game and basically lost all of my combat skills so i don’t know how i’m going to get that hahaha

You can practice fighting, maybe doing the shield trial a few times to get back into it, even if you fail :) but starting fresh is always an option if youre feeling it

If you don’t have a Wii, Wii U, or Switch, there’s always emulation. Most decent computers can handle Wii games just fine.

😂 got the remake for Christmas! Im loving the game. Ive beat the game on the wii the day it came out that year for Christmas too. I beat it within 2 weeks. Yes i played it non-stop, and Fi’s battery remote warnings while annoying was fine…. The game does have moments where I dread.. and hate. Overall its an experience I enjoy and appreciate what they took from here and put it into BTOW. 😂 Skyward needed more exploration. But btow was too open. Personally a middle ground between skyward and btow… and for me thats Windwaker 😂 minus getting stuck in the ocean for an eternity. Glad the port migitates it
