She finger coiled her hair thats not curls. Her hair seems to be straight no curl. Just a different texture. What I have learnt if you do not have naturally curly hair is not easy getting curls by using products. what the products do is to define the curls - meaning when you wash your hair it has a certain curly pattern when you apply the curling products it helps to keep those natural curls in tact and not have them getting loose and frizzy. I think by now people would have an understanding that the products do not make non curly hair into curly hair...

GOODNESS, who knew it would take SO LONG to do my hair? After watching your videos and taking your advice, I'm now more accepting and patient for the time it takes to perform, what I originally THOUGHT to be difficult. Well, thats what a lot of “wash and go’s” are, except they call it “shingling” which is pretty much the same as finger curling. So basically the STYLE/LOOK is a wash and go but it’s achieved by a shingling/finger coil technique for most 4b and 4c hair....and even some 4a types do it too!

I've had close female friends across the rainbow of race/ethnicities as a photographer who deals with models. All of them spend at least 1-3hrs a week on their hair routine. It's just part of their feminine lifestyle. If you can't/don't then you have to question whether you are serious about wanting nice hair. If you don't think you're worth 1-3hrs a week, then you need to examine things. The time passes regardless.

I don’t know how I found this video but the fact I was wondering what style I should do in my hair today (my length is similar to yours, did a chop a few months ago). Let me get up and mimic this style. Love it!! Just gorgeous all around. Just a tip for anyone, if your 4c hair isn’t curling with water or conditioner, use the pearly braid out from mane choice. It’s my go to if I want extra defining without any frizz. I don’t always like gel so I only use it sometimes.

My son's hair is the length of hers, he does the same thing. ..minus the ponytails and they're just as nice, I retwist his monthly. He washes them weekly.

Yes please explain more. You say to "wrap" hair at night? With what; and with what technique, material? All I know about wrapping is what they do to processed hair to flatten it around your head so as to get a straight, contoured look in the a.m. This cannot possibly be what you mean. Hair bonnets are too hot for me. Been thinking of trying a fine mesh hairnet????

Great video; and I’ve definitely learnt some tips from you . Thank you. The only thing I would suggest is not to dry the water off. I haven’t dried my 4c hair for about 9 months when doing a wash n go. I also wash it every 1-2 weeks so my hair is now well hydrated. My curls pop easily now because I’ve been doing this. Like you say the more wet your hair is the better. Thanks for sharing x

Okay so Im sitting and typing this message having done the curls and waiting to set. Im from South Africa where when we say 4c we actually mean 5B. My hair is course with massive schrinkage and is not thick at all. My hair has been through braids, relaxer, colouring and self hater-aid but I know my curls are going to see the promised land. So glad to see REAL 4c. I must admit Ive had to change my diet, drink lots of water and take vitamins to just get to the point where I actually see curls. Wish me luck and thank you so much for your amazing work. Stay gorgeous!!!! ps. gonna try this on my many nieces and nephews so their hair can be poppin cause no parent has time for hair and im single. Share some ideas for little ones with 4c and very soft hair.

@@ndukumusyoki9835 I been looking around and it seems due to the intense shrinkage you must first blow dry the hair a bit just to lengthen. You must also use a super strong hair gel (or mouse if your hair lacks volume).

@LadyE100 I agree. Ladies, she's right. You just have to plan out the time when you wash your hair to add about one hour for the define curls part. I myself have a mixture of 4B and 4C hair. I find that finger twisting after sectioning off my hair into 5 sections, clipping each one down, and then working with one section at a time works best for me. The tip about drying with a tee shirt and using the gel she suggests (not the pudding) is what I have been looking for. I cannot see how the sponge would work for the look I want. IMPORTANT! Still don't get how to "wrap" my hair at night. Please explain further details.
