I think grapplers is always strong on launch is due to how they dont need massive labtime snowball in life lead. Since other chars needs to have a decent combo to match a cmd throw in term of dmg. Plus grapplers works mostly the same principle throughout all fighting games. Just give it some time. For now

The difference between classic and modern would be: -everything you do deals 80% damage -you only have one version of your special moves ( between L, M and H), you can still EX them - you do your specials by pressing 1 button, triangle in playstation for example, on ryu it gives you hadouken then you do a direction then triangle for the other moves -and you lose some of your normals, for example guile loses his upside down kick and his overhead.
