This is the first Sleep Token song I heard and after that I fell down the rabbit hole, I’m still down there and never climbing out. If you want to see more Vessel then there are three more videos that you need to check out , ‘The Love You Want’ which is from the same album as Alkaline so that mask, ‘The Way That You Were’ which is an early single so a younger Vessel with one of his first masks and ‘Bloodsport(from the room below)’ which is just Vessel and a piano. Absolutely check out the albums Sundowning and This Place Will Become Your Tomb but don’t forget the two Eps ‘One’ and ‘Two’ and another single which has got a video ‘Jaws’ which is my favourite along with Ascensionism. Alkaline was the first Sleep Token song I ever heard, and I was completely hooked. Still ranks up there with my favorite songs they've ever done. There's actually a drum playthrough video of Alkaline as well, highly recommend if you want to see a world class drummer at work

My favouriteeee thing about the live performance of Alkaline is the ad lib Vessel does at 5:38 on 'design' he extends the note as the drums fade then when IV comes back in with the riff he kind of does this growl thing and it makes me FERAL. Highly recommend going to watch it 10/10!

Whenever you guys get a chance--after listening to the originals, of course--it's absolutely worth it to watch the drum playthroughs that the drummer (Vessel II) did for Alkaline, Like That, and Hypnosis. They're beautifully filmed, and without the vocal track, you really get an appreciation for II's ridiculous, borderline eldritch talent, not to mention the amazing instrumental arrangements. Also, I am so ready for The Offering. Omg.
