I saw them for the first time in 2008 when this song was pretty new. I was 15 and it was one of the best concerts ever despite it raining. The most pits on a sloped lawn turned into literal mud slides and a man next to me lit his hands on fire (he was fine) it was crazy. I’ve been fortunate to see them a few more times over the years as well but that first time will always be a core memory. Also! I’m in the middle of binging a bunch of your videos for music I like and I love the reactions! Love how into all this rock and emo and metal you are. Especially some of my faves like Queen, AC/DC, MCR, SOAD, and Evanescence!

Masks are one of their hallmarks. Each member updates their masks every album cycle so they may not be exactly the same in every video.. The 9-pointed star is for the 9 members of the band. The members of Slipknot are assigned numbers that correspond to the order in which they joined the band which is why you saw SEVEN

From what I understand, slipknot's original idea to use masks in their performances was to take themselves out of the music. As if to symbolize they could be anyone because the emotions are universal

Don't worry Slipknot isn't satanic. They have used satanic imagery in the past but for reasons not related to the worship of satan. I suggest Nero Forte next.

Maybe it's just for show, but they've been using the inverted pentacle and behemoth on suits, stages, drums, etc. for decades. They may not be the leaders of the church of Satan, but they certainly don't seem like altar boys to me.

So you wanna see a mosh pit/concert, watch "Spit It Out" - Live at Download, this was off their first album, and has become an anthem. Some may disagree, but if you read the lyrics ahead of time you will catch more and start tuning your ear to hear what they are saying. Back in the day when an album (or cassette, yup, OLD) would drop, the insert usually had lyrics to all the songs, I would either read along or if I could not listen to it, like riding home with the parents from the record store, sit in the back seat and 'study' the lyrics. Anyway when I would get a chance then to hear it I 'knew' it.

So the masks themselves originated from the original band member, the clown mask guy and everyone followed along.the reason they wear them is to focus the audience on their music and lyrics

The masks started as a joke, Clown would show up wearing one and others kind of joined in. It was also a nod to the band Mr. Bungle early on. The masks ended up representing the faces people normally don't show to the public, in other words the things about themselves and their personalities that people normally hide from everyone else

Ok bruv... Slipknot have been going since 1995. There are 9 members in the band.. Two of the original lads have passed away, Paul grey and joey jordison (the main drummer) 3 drummers a DJ ,3 guitarists, a singer and a samples dude. They are are an army... They have a huge back catalogue of music, that have some epic songs. Corey Taylor is without a doubt one of the greatest rock singers of all time.. He can literally do it all. He is in a another bad called stone sour who are also brilliant. The masks are just part of their make up as a band. They first started with masks and boilers suits and they were originally identified by numbers 0 to 8. And barcodes too. That's why Mick had seven on his arm, as he's 7.. my 25 year old daughter has the same tattoo.. And yes I'm a old dude..well actually similar age to slipknot guys. And I'll be seeing them live in the new arena here in Manchester England.. Don't listen to others and the song requests.. Listen to snuff.. It's a ballad, that starts slow and builds up and you will not think it's the same band.. Also vermilion parts 1 and 2.. Really good start points and they are different from what you have done already.. There's a metal head in everyone bruv.. Keep the faith mate..🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

The star is a 9 point star. It represents the 9 members of Slipknot. A lot of the guys have a tattoo of a number on them. That represents their number in the lineup. Mick, the guitarist, was the 7th member of the band.
