New Jack City, Boyz N The Hood, Juice & Menace II Society is the Mount Rushmore of hood classics. Each movie taught us life lessons, launched a lot of careers, inspired a genre of movies, has been referenced in other movies, shows, songs, albums & mixtapes, very quotable & you could have your black card revoked if you’ve never seen these movies. Fun fact: Martin Lawrence was supposed to play Pookie. He didn’t due to the death of his mentor comedian/actor Robin Harris. Martin took Robin’s death really hard.

My cousin and I watched & quoted that movie constantly, especially PeeWee's lines (we were big fans of Tone Loc as kids). Robin was a funny dude and a great writer/storyteller.
