Something I noticed on day two were playing is the lack of SBMM means there’s a lot greater variety of skill expression. We lost one match by .4% because the worst prefomring player on the opposing team kept fire suicide bombing the escort to the point where he terrified literally everybody away from trying to complete the escort. Just can’t get that to happen with the current era of matchmaking algorithms.

Random matchmaking is the biggest reason old cods are goated. There's obviously more to it than just that, but it was actually fun and relaxing to play. The new cods are a fight for your life if you're a decent player, and just not fun.

Meanwhile the enemy team is all level 8 and ABOVE, it was so stupid

The amount of times I shoot someone across the map and get a hit marker with my tac-50 but that same person using the m44 one shots me is insane and genuinely pissing me off a ton. Then also getting shot around corners full 10+ seconds after I turn it. Other than those two issues I love this game.

Not to be that guy, but they obviously were a better sniper then. You have to hit headshots with the M44 from range, otherwise it’s a hitmarker machine. The Tac-50 is one shot one kill, torso up, to a certain distance. It does have a damage falloff. If you got outplayed by the M44 at range, then just give the guy his credit and don’t try to just blame the game.

It almost seems as that if you’re the first one to die, then your bullet literally just no longer does damage. I’ve had that happen quite a few times. Me and a guy will shoot basically at the same time, I get dropped and my shot only lands a hitmarker which seems to have done no damage when looking at their health. That does definitely need to get fixed, or changed if it’s intentional. (Basically what happened to Jev in the first 10 seconds of the video.) They definitely have server connection issues, because I get killed when I’m sliding behind a wall/corner too.

Bo4 was the last cod without overkill SBMM. I was better than the average pool of players so I got rewarded from this by dominating in 90% of my matches. That’s what I get for putting in time and getting better at the game. Now if you do good you get punished. Lobbies should be random. If you’re trash at the game that’s a skill issue and maybe the game isn’t for you

MWIII is always the same for me, first game is always hard, usually thrown into a match in progress where my team is getting stomped, I do bad on purpose, get an easier lobby and do good, then get a crazy hard lobby that stays together for a few matches. I’ve been loving the game play, flow, and pace. Maps look great, but my hit reg and the netcode have been brutal. Sometimes hitting 4-5 ACR shots and doing only half damage like the hit markers aren’t actually hitting the target. Otherwise I like it a lot

But, like you said, not knowing what will happen in the next game is so much more fun than knowing you're going up against fucking CDL level gameplay. I don't want to play against people on my level. I just want to play the damn game and have fun. And, inevitably, once I get into my groove I start caring about my stats. The simplicity of just matching you with people who are playing the same gamemode is so much better than a large system that, again, like you said, makes you feel like a lab rat.

My biggest problem as someone who doesnt enjoy playing cod and enjoy really on R6 I was playing today, while I will say it is releases day but it just feels overly sweaty without it the amount of fights i have gotten in where all they do is jump, slide, jump, 360, jump, jump makes it miserable to play and i usually play comp but if you dont wanna play competitive you cant compete with these players normally
