One of my biggest production problems was contrast…… and it’s STILL something I’m working on. I’m still learning that “less is more” sometimes. Thanks for showing that in this video and talking about the lack of something adding more to it!

Thanks Forest. You always have something good to say. I’m so glad I found Music City Playbook and the Track in A Day Challenge. Your courses and KZbin videos made it possible for me to begin this amazing writing journey two years ago. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your encouragement!

Thanks Forest! Great insight and tips. I’m still working on all these things in my productions. I think my biggest hurdle is knowing when a song is finished. I tend to over produce my music. Sometimes too much is too much. You always know the perfect amount of production for a song 👍

I dig the variety in the tracks, but how do you think about recording vs live. I mean if the artist are to play the song live, couldn’t that patchwork approach cause problems with all of thise parts?

I really enjoy your videos. Your production is nicely done - I especially like how you mix acoustic/live instruments with the electronics. I just wish the basic material you're given to work with wasn't so monotonous and banal. I know endlessly repeating 3-note melodies over the same four chords is the in thing in pop and country, but I hope one day we will hear a bit more interesting songwriting in those markets.
@forestwhitehead Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind comment. I just wish you could have left it as encouragement instead of ending with a backhanded compliment on my material is monotonous. Maybe one day I can learn from you on how to do it the right way. I hope we will get to hear more interesting songwriting from the commentor before taking this comment seriously. Let hear what you do sir!
