Sleep definitely does get better. Or should I say, our body and mind gets better at adapting to various new cycles from multiple diaper phase to waking up to check only once when they are diaper free :) Its so calming and adorable to see children do art work. My kids are 10 and 8 now. They have spent a lot of time everyday doing free/unstructured art. Here are some things that could help not just her in her art but also help with the clean up. :) 1. Splat mat ( I always had 2. One for meal time another for all the fun mess during art. Some brands have them in a pouch for travel) Also, disposable splat mats are very useful for travel. 2. White paper roll (called Kraft easel paper, here in the US) that you get by meters in India. 3. Crayola washable (literally anything washable from crayola is great). + Jumbo crayons if available, 4. Foam* rollers and foam brushes work great for toddlers. Chunky brushes for those tiny hands are easy! 5. Art smocks or full sleeve bibs. Eg: Bumkins sleeved bib. I swear by this. :) For travel art: Melissa and Doug On the Go Water Wow reusable coloring activity or Aqua art (I am sure it/similar ones are available on Amazon India/at Hamleys).

My daughter faced the same issue when she was Abby's age. Even I felt like when will she sleep throughout the night. But turns out the issue was screen time. I was letting her have screentime for only a little time because everybody around was saying its ok to give her phone. As a first time mom, I listened to what others said but honestly after stopping screentime completely, she slept well. I know a lot of moms would disagree to this. But this is what worked with my kid. And also since she was rotating a lot, we all started sleeping on the floor with just mat and some bed spreads. That helped too because my daughter is a light sleeper and whenever in sleep if I or my husband turn to the other side she would wake up because of the slightest bed movement. Ever since then we've been sleeping on the floor and it has worked wonderfully for our sleep. Thank god for that.

I sleep trained my child at 4 months and he slept in his cot absolutely wonderfully. Though there would be phases of interrupted sleep every 4-6 months but i didn't introduce any bad habits during those periods like feeding multiple times or let him sleep on my lap or chest. Because that tends to become permanent. From age 3 he has started sleeping with me. I would put lot of pillows and guard him so that he won't cross and come to my section of bed. But ya there are still instances like may be every 3-4 month where he has troubled sleep for 2-3 days. Unless abby is sick don't let her sleep on your chest because that's a habit she is picking up. Let her self soothe and sleep on her own

I'm a silent viewer of your channel so far, it's my first comment. Whatever you said is one hundred percent true, today's parenting has been really overwhelming in a way that children themselves don't know what is childhood, and they behave in a such a way that we adults get confused whether we're adults or them. Bottom line is "children are no more a children" sad but true. Faulty parenting! Our 90s generation was the best!

Right from 7 months, my boy slept next to me in the cot attached to the bed… n i feel that was the best decision of my life… the moment i started making him sleep in the cot, within 15 days he started sleeping through the night..the midnight feeds also stopped…n we have communicated that it’s his sleeping space…now he’s 2+…and he sleeps straight for 10 hrs i don’t remember from how long..At time when i get him to my bed, he starts to rotate and we all can’t sleep at all..i loved the cot, close yet in our respective beds.. i think buying the cot was my best decision and putting them to habit early on is very rewarding. From 8 months of age he is trained to sit in a car seat all strapped up..and now he puts his belt and checks if we are wearing our seat belts or not..again putting into a habit..

Am a pediatrician and still my story was the same,my kid started sleeping at an 8 hr strech by 2 yrs, that was when i completely stopped breastfeeding n night feeds ,still he wakes up at 3 yrs but less frequent once in a while, stop giving milk and see, sometimes they wake up out of a habit of drinking milk, but you never know some kids may not start sleeping till 4 or more

Hey Malz, kids are designed to sleep with their mamas. My elder child started sleeping well only when he turned 2-2.5 years. After he turned 2.5 years, he really started sleeping like an adult. So hang in there

I am facing the exact same situation. My daughter 1 month older to Abby wakes up in the same way, sits and cries if i dont wake up and take her on my lap. This continuous for 7-8 times or more in the night. This has started 15 days before and I am searching for the solution. Please share with us the details if there is anything that worked for you.
