Well, obviously. Alex talked about that in the video. That said, you’d be hard pressed to find a 3060 mobile out-performing a 3070 mobile unless the 3070 was severely under-powered and the 3060 had a couple hundred watts to play with.

This is a really good looking laptop, and those bezels are amazing. However, a 3070 doesn't mean anything in a platform that constantly thermal throttles. That's the big reason the XPS only has a 3050, because they've figured out it really doesn't make sense to slap in huge GPUs that sit at 80 degrees after 30 seconds. So, I'm VERY curious to see if this thing has the brawn to back up the looks, or if it just dies a death after like 20-30 minutes of gaming. Also, that metal chassis=hot palms. The XPS uses carbon fiber, which basically never gets hot. So, that's another win right there.

Hah we have these (well the last gen, the G7) available for requisition at work from IT. They're SUPER expensive and pretty much only limited to senior SDEs and senior 3D/graphics designers (they have Quadros inside), but they're pretty great, much better than the regular EliteBooks the rest of us have. I was not surprised at the consumer price - pretty much no one buys these as a regular consumer, they're bought by businesses for corporate workstations in bulk for massively lower prices. It also means the IO of this thing is pretty irrelevant, since it's always used with a docking station that's pretty decked out (several DP ports, USB ports, ethernet, etc.) I don't know what they mean by "first professional keyboard", we have the exact same one on the EliteBooks lol.

As a regular consumer going through 2 ZBooks already, I disagree on the notion that they don't get used outside businesses lol.

Alex: this is the laptop that you can expense to work Me: so you mean I should not have been able to get work to buy me a Razer blade 14 as I did under the guise of using it for school work too?

Do they still make the Convertible Studios? Maybe HP scrapped it, I can't find a new one anywhere.

A professional laptop without a full sized HDMI or DP? Nah dog that would be useless to hook up to random projectors in meetings and a pain to connect to more monitors for increased productivity. Also that Z on the back looks like one of those fake logos they put on macbooks in TV shows

I really feel like 4k is overkill on a 15-inch display, and that display increases the price of an already extremely expensive laptop by a couple hundred dollars.
@tldmimikyu57793 жыл бұрын
You can see at 7:49 that indeed, there is a IPS display model and by only choosing it the price has a huge 400 bucks drop

i like the zbook lineup use it for everyday task, sometimes uses it for virtual box. Works great for 1st gen zbook.
@nicka1013 жыл бұрын
4k on a laptop is already pointless, so lets add 120Hz to it and make it so there's no chance it can manage it. Oh and lets also make it more than 4 grand, that'll make it a good value proposition...

Glad I found this 😅 my original work laptop broke and I’ve had it for 4 years, now I’m the branch manager and IT said they were upgrading me to a new laptop since I don’t go out in the field anymore 😅

I think this is what they gave me at work. It has bios-level permissions and tracking, the OS is completely stripped of any permissions to the point I can't even see a C drive or connect to wifi. All I can do with my 16 threads and 32G RAM, fast SSD and Quadro card is launch Internet Explorer and browse my company's website.

Honestly this laptop seems pretty impressive. Only thing I don’t like about it from a cosmetic stand point is the huge Z on the back of it but that’s nothing that Dbrand can’t fix. Wish that the price was lower.

This is the laptop equivalent "sleeper" car. Business up front, party in the back. It should have a default macro that instantly mutes sound, minimizes a game, switches to a different windows virtual desktop and fires up an excel workbook. They could have a dedicated key and call it the "boss" key.
