We're not afraid of your cross because our God has conquered it! Brilliant. We so easily miss the power of the Gospel message because we're so far removed from things like public executions. I love how Bishop Barron constantly reminds us of the power and the majesty of Jesus and his Father.

Friends, in today's Gospel Jesus asks: "If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills and go in search of the stray?" Well, of course not! No self-respecting shepherd would ever think of doing that. If you were a shepherd you would cut your losses. That sheep is probably dead anyway if it wandered far enough away. But we have to understand that God is like that foolish shepherd. God's love throws caution to the wind to seek out the lost sheep. We might expect God to be good to those who are good and kind to those who follow his commandments. Those who don't who wander away are simply lost. God might give them a few minutes, but then they are on their own. No; God is like this kooky shepherd. God loves irrationally, exuberantly risking it all in order to find the one who wandered away. What good news! God does not love according to a strict justice on our terms, but loves in his extravagant way. *REFLECT:* Meditate on a time when you were the one lost sheep and received the extravagant, irrational love of God. *Advent Gospel Reflection by Bishop Barron* Tuesday, 12/10/2019 Second week of Advent Gospel, Mathew 18: 12-14

Not only a comprehensive look at and narrative of our Christian beginnings but the richness and beauty of how it was filmed is just so inspiring! Tears came to my eyes when I saw Bishop Barron kneel and pray at the very place where Jesus was born. And when he entered the Church of the Holy Sepulcher through that little door which opened into a vast expanse of a great church I was again amazed. To see HIM in those holy places made the most holy places even more REAL. I know I will never go to those places so having watched the video I am satisfied that I have seen them. And I will save this video to watch again and to share with family and friends.

Yes! One God in three forms. 🙂 The Holy Trinity. God the Father (Yahweh), God the Son (Jesus Christ/Yeshua), and the Holy Ghost which lives in man since the Day of Pentecost. No other god in any religion I've ever read of has gone to such lengths for humanity out of love for us. God demonstrates His power and His love for humanity, showing he is the true God. And God is good, all the time.

But I want you to also think about where he was educated, who taught him, and the other seminarians who were educated and ordained with him. I'm interviewing some of the priests in the Archdiocese who were educated at the same seminary as he was.
