I watched this year wrestlemania mainly because of the Rock but it was obvious they were gonna do this Daniel Bryan shit with Cody that was one of the reasons I stopped watching wrestling because the fans of a potential Evolution triple Threat at wrestlemania became a bunch of cry babies wanted Bryan to be in the main event and they got their wish but even then they said his reign was awful that despite being a fan favourite WWE ratings and merchandise around Bryan wasnt making them money. I tried to tell people Damian Priest should have cashed in on Cody to become the biggest heel but people complained. When Cody pinned Roman at Mania. In the middle of handing his mom the title. Priest music should have dropped. HHH then pedigrees Cody. The Judgement day along with Mcintrye rush the ring. They beat up Cena, Orton, and anybody else in the ring. Rhea pushes Cody mom to the ground and The Judgement day attack Cody. Eventually Priest says he cashing in and he hits the South of Heaven. The boos from the crowd reign down and Priest stands tall. HHH comes out tomorrow on Raw explaining why he did it. He says Cody was talking crap in another company so he could not let Cody become the “Guy”. If HHH would have did this. Cody story would have had a huge plot twist and better character development.

Bro is saying it just started in April like April is still last month. Some people only get 2-3 months in their entire title reign in their whole life, and they make it memorable. Cody's whole personality was doing what his dad couldn't since his first Royal Rumble win, same promos, same intentions for an year, and now it's over, and then there's nothing else about him. Dashing Cody Rhodes had more personality to him than this Cody. It's going to be 4 months into Cody's reign soon, and by now if he couldn't do much, it just means it's boring as of now, they should've done Randy vs Cody sooner. Just because subjectively you don't mind not tuning into the show for 3 months for some build-up that will one day come, it doesn't mean it isn't boring. 3 months is enough time.

The problem is the story's finished but the book isn't. What's this current chapter about? Cody Rhodes vs. Bloodline 2.0? Why should we care when it's not really about Cody Rhodes? And why should we have cared about Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles time in NJPW if WWE don't care enough to acknowledge it? The three most interesting feuds for Cody Rhodes are against Randy Orton, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins. Those are the ones with the biggest hype around them, not Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa and the new Bloodline, not Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul, not Cody Rhodes vs. AJ Styles. Also it's hard for anyone to have a good world title reign as a face following a WrestleMania win, just look at Seth Rollins and Kofi Kingston, I think the only face who could have pulled off a good title reign is Daniel Bryan because the next chapter of his story would be about him actually holding onto the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for longer than a day.

I’m going to strongly disagree on that WWE is currently not in the business of telling stories. This was one issue that WAS fixed when Triple H took control of creative from Vince. Also note that not every story told is going to achieve success. Just because an outcome isn’t ideal or great does not imply there is no story mode behind it. The Bloodline story has been a story arc for several years now. Now they have the story arc with Chad Gable. And they have the chaos going on in the Judgment Day. Let’s not forget LA Knight’s story in succeeding finally at the US Championship Title. Or the obvious one between Punk, Drew and Seth. Now the Summerslam match didn’t live up to its hype in the end. But there has been major backstory behind it which is undeniable. What you need to take into account is that Cody was not supposed to beat Roman at Mania this year. They were originally going to go with Rock and Roman but an audible was called at literary the last second after a strong negative fan reaction. So Cody’s current run at this time was not the original plan going into Mania and Triple H and creative had significantly less time to plan out what comes after Mania than they would have in a typically story that didn’t have a major audible called during a peak moment.

I’m confused. Cody’s first two matches were great, the feud was great and it had a story. Yes he’s the champ, but he’s not the man. His father was, and that’s a man AJ beat. Smackdown is the house AJ built. Cody stepped out of his father’s shadow and became the man. He then gets into the bloodline feud, where he’s against the protege of the man he beat at mania while also being the protege of Randy Orton. Solo usurped his teacher and took his place in his absence. Randy Orton is going to feel the same way about Cody. That’s a storyline that’s literally coming, it was teased the last time Randy was on TV. And here he’s the first singles challenge of the Usurper Chief. The only problem with his reign is nobody expects him to lose because AJ hasn’t been able to beat a guy who’s going for the US champ and Solo spent all last year jobbing to defend Roman. Their momentum is shot, and Solo even now isn’t the strongest booked guy in his faction which is why HE. Needed a big singles win or two. He needed to beat KO, he needed to beat Randy. Something. But Jacob Fatu is the guy taking out all three of them. It’s a good title reign, I genuinely don’t know what people expected.

I find it hilarious that for weeks and weeks so many people cried their little eyes out because they wanted Cody to be the champion. Eventhough the man has like next to no personality and is extremely boring on the mic. During this time anyone that went against the grain and brought this up was attacked. And now look where we are. WWE doesn't have alot or good heel or babyface wrestlers. In the Attitude era the babyface and the heels all were entertaining. Everyone on the roster were fun to watch. Cody is kinda boring imo. Another problem is wwe let Roman hold the title for way too long so when he left and the next champion took over, its not holding legitimacy anymore. Now everyone is so used to Roman and his ridiculously long title reign and thats all they want to see.
