I obviously must be wrong, since nobody seems to see Roy as a Top 6 potential, but I do. I feel like he’s been underated for the last 3 years. I think he’d shine on a line with true talents.

I do too buddy, I seriously don't know why we're not excited for Roy. We were crazy for Drouin when he got here but Roy has way more potential!

You're not wrong. But Laine has pushed out Roy for now. I think if Laine wasn't acquired. He'd be second line with Dach and Newhook.

Why are we crying about this it's Russia we know what they do to drafted players that wanna leave. They did it to michkov last year why would demidov be any different

This is one aspect of what it is called "the russian factor"...this is why certain NHL teams don't like drafting russian prospects with very high picks. Teams can't supervise their development while under contract in Russia.

Love the disagreement at the end and I’m with Grant on that… The Habs are absolutely stacked with prospects who have potential, Lots of draft picks… Not every prospect on that list is gonna make it, BUT they have that potential and if Montreal develops properly they could have a better chance to make it… Previous years I was never excited about our prospects like never lmao… Only time I got excited was with Caufield, Guhle, Mailloux and 2022, 23, 24 drafts… Suzuki as well but we didn’t draft him… you can see talent and potential when you watch prospects and we never had one that was exciting, We only had ones I wished for a miracle to happen and they became good out of the blue… Ryan Pheoling was one I was hoping would become good but never held my breath on that…

The way a coach uses a player can make a great difference "statwise"; by using Demidov on the 4th line, we can't expect great offensive numbers...especially for a player that will not be there next year. However, he is still learning the pro game playing against men..not teenagers !!!

I know Grant is on the optimistic side of things, but even if a couple of those prospects miss they still have a high number or potential NHLers.

He wasn't dropped down due to effort, it was because he was making risky plays in the middle of the ice including a bad turnover and a near turnover on a risky pass.
@recruteshockey9700
@recruteshockey9700 4 күн бұрын
I didn't say he was dropped down because of a lack of effort, I said he was standing around and being too tentative. He wasn't moving and reacting instinctively. You don't worry about the odd turnover from trying to be creative. You worry about him being overwhelmed. Yesterday - he was not overwhelmed.

@@recruteshockey9700 Habs fans worry too much… Even if he doesn’t get much playing time this season I don’t believe that will hurt his development much. He’s coming to Montreal after this season, And this kid is just too good for a low amount of playing time to hurt his career in my opinion… if he was stuck there for 3 years I would be worried, One year left, Actually not even a year basically months left and the season will be over and Demidov will be on his way to Montreal to start developing more here. I’m sure he will earn more playing time with SKA so Habs fans need to chill, But if he doesn’t it’s not much of a worry.

Apparently JF Houle prioritized his veterans, wasn't to concerned with development. The new guy should be much better for the Habs, long term... actually, I think we might see him coaching the Habs sooner than later. Marty is a basket case.
