Avoid using an extension on an impact gun, the shock from the gun is absorbed instead of being transferred to the nut. It makes a huge difference.

ATF fluid works well to remove stuck bolts, also dewalt makes a 1/2 inch impact model dcf 961 that has a massive torque should zip them off handy, Looks like you have the batteries so the tool only is is about $300.
@vxnova15 ай бұрын
It looks like you have the dcf 899 which has about 800 NM of torque while the 961 has 1200NM so half as much again,

The big impact gun has three settings. 1 low. 2 general torque. 3 is very aggressive and usually loosens anything. Just don’t tighten on 3 or you’ll snap or strip bolts. The dewalt is a beast of an impact gun. I use it in every piece of equipment I have. But I did away with mower blade bolts…love the quick change style, especially with our stony fields.
@rayotbfb Жыл бұрын
Yea 100% correct. But also some of the bigger impact guns need the larger size battery’s to get the full power out of the gun, the Milwaukee’s are that way anyway
@FarmTheoryNI Жыл бұрын
Yep, it was on 1. 🤣 My brother informed me it has 3 settings.

When using the impact gun, let it run for maybe 10-20 seconds on the lowest setting, it can help to shock it and make it easier to come off. Also you could try to tighten the bolt and then loosen it, might break it free.

I would say spray the nuts with 3 in one oil then put them back on loosely so as not to expose the threads over winter. And you won't lose anything.

I have the same gun. It’s rated at around 1000 ft-lbs tightening, and 1400 ft-lbs removing. Mine will remove lorry tires all day long. Make sure it’s on the #3 setting for maximum power. The #1 setting is barely good for 100 Ft-lbs, and the #2 setting might get as high as 250 ft-lbs. Also, you only have their smallest battery. A 2ah one. It looses power quickly, and if it doesn’t have 3 bars on the light meter on the back of the battery, it’s almost useless with the big impact gun. I personally use the 6ah batteries. They made a huge difference. They flow better power, and they seem to last forever. Well worth the investment. The 2ah may be cheaper, but I’d never buy one if I didn’t have to. Also, not meaning to just be critical, as I really enjoy your videos. But, do you ever check volume levels while editing. Just before you went the the last part of the video, when you added the music, it just about tore my ears out of my head. If there’s a db meteor on your editing software, try and run the settings consistently. Around -7(high(barely into the red segment of the signal meter)) to -15(lower(in the high end of the yellow band on the meter)). This is a good sound signal level for most devices to have good sound, yet not overdrive their amplifiers.

did you know that wd40 was never designed to be a lubricant. WD stand for water displacement and the 40 says that this was the NASA's 40th attempt to design a water displacer for their space programme. Most penetrating oils containing graphite are better than WD40.

Why do you take the mower blades off.......you could just squirt a bit of used engine oil over the blades and nuts and bolts with a oil can if your afraid of it rusting. there's probably torque settings on your gun ......seems like it's slipping too easily. A long'ish piece of pipe to slide in over your torque wrench handle would give you loads of leverage to shift the toughest of nuts, That tractor is a bit big for manouvering around in sheds.........horses for courses . I always thought it was best to lower the bed down flat on the ground with your rear mounted mower.......partly cos it's safer. and there's oil in the bed i think on those mowers so it preserves the life of the bearings and cogs in the bed if the mower is lying flat on the ground......but i know the mower does takes up more room when it's in it's working possition

You will think im crazy here. But. Youd be better off with a fusion 3. Less tractors, machinery and people needed to do your silage. You explained the importance of rolling the pit. Well the baler will roll every bale better than any amount of rolling. No need for a new silage pit shed. You can use ur existing silage sheds for cattle and machinery all year round. Seems u feed the blocks. Feeding the bales wud be easier.

The main problem is your guns are dewalt and not milwaukee! Jokes aside, you need bigger batteries, little 2ah are useless for anything other than tiny diy spec tools. That big gun should shift them little bolts with bigger batteries. Also, cold weather effects the performance of lithium ion batteries
