This kaleidoscope is made out of precise optical mirrors that are held in place by the stained glass shell. It creates endless visualizations when you point a flashlight on it.

Could you make a tutorial to explain how to make more complicated patterns like this one?

Any luck on that tutorial yet? I’ve made the cheap one but I’d like to use my stained glass abilities to do something like this 😊

As soon as I have enough time, it's quite a tedious process.

Hey there! Incredible kaleidoscope. I've watched your other tutorials and they seem to be very different than this one. Could you make a tutorial explaining how to get such complex patterns in the glass? Maybe a tutorial that's a little more advanced, like "precise optical mirrors that are held in place by the stained glass shell"? Thanks!

Hey, thanks for you comment. Yes, I will eventually do that. But as you noticed, it gets quite complex as you move from acrylic to glass mirrors and soldering.

This is incredible!!! ❤ The honeycomb pattern adds an extra layer of what da heck! lol May I ask what do you use for the outer layer of the scope? To protect the mirrors?

Very very cool! Compliments! I want to express my gratitude for your precious tutorial, thanks to that I've successfully created my first prototype. Now, I'd like to take additional steps to improve upon it. (I plan to gift my first kaleidoscope to a friend who is unwell.) I have a few questions regarding your amazing works, and I hope you can provide some answers: 1) Can you confirm that above the 3 mirrored trapezoids (I assume made of plexiglass), you glue three trapezoids of colored glass? (If so, what is the thickness of the two overlapping layers, approximately 5/6 mm?) 2) Do you confirm that two are of a dark shade and one is of a light shade (whitish) to allow better passage of light? 3) Furthermore, to allow light into the mirror tunnel, do you scratch the surface only on one side (the one where you place the white glass) or on all three? 4) What type of stone do you use for the final part of the tunnel? 5) Could you provide the measurements of the trapezoids? 6) Is the hexagonal grid\shape eflection primarily determined by the stone at the end of the tunnel or does it also depend on the lateral engravings Thanks a lot for your help

Thank you for your comment. You may find the following step-by-step video tutorial helpful with your questions kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYu2hpSKpaaWfKs I add stained glass on top of the mirrors. There is no specific size, it is totally up to you. The bigger the better. The pattern is only on one mirror.

@@my-pixels Thank you again. I followed the tutorial closely. It has been incredibly valuable in helping me grasp the principles behind this amazing kaleidoscope and i hope you will do another one regarding this final and refinished version of your keleidos. I was asking about the measurements, specifically to better calibrate the ratio between the length of the lower base and the length of the upper base of the trapezoids, i think it affects the main reflection effect. Any suggestion\link about the stone\jem\marble at the end of the tunnel? ❤

@@gfx909 The measurements provided in the video description work pretty well. You can calculate bigger or smaller mirrors by simply using the same angle measurements and it should work just fine. You can find those gems and glass prisms online or at your local craft store (like Michaels). You can also use colored marbles.

Thanks for the info you've been kind enough to share on the construction of these kaleidoscopes. I've built my first prototype using miorrored acrylic, etched on one face using my laser cutter and added a prism in the end. I didn't have any front face mirrors which seems to stop the shapes from connecting properly in the illusion. I'll keep experimenting! Here's version 1 kzbin.info4J3en_2Hckc

You are welcome! I hope you enjoyed the process. If you don't want to use first surface glass mirrors, you can try first surface acrylic mirrors. Just look them up online, they are not expensive.
