These people always amaze me. I am a retired veteran with full disability. Among my disability I have really bad shoulders. I got detained a few years ago, nothing big, I understood exactly why the police wanted to detain me. But when the cops asked for my ID I promptly gave it to them and when they told me I was being detained and would be temporarily put in cuffs, I told them they could verify on my ID I was a disabled vet and I had have very bad shoulders, could they please cuff me in front, they told told me that wasn't an option but they doubled up the cuffs behind my back so my shoulders weren't pulled back so much. The officer apologized saying that was the best he could do for the moment and even though it wasn't perfect I surely appreciated their extra effort and told them so. About 30 minutes later they confirmed I wasn't the person they wanted and I was released.

If nothing applies, then you get instantly released and the Officer might even get a write-up for the false arrest and you might choose to press civil charges for the false arrest; but in the meantime, you are expected to obey lawful orders and any Attorney would tell you to comply until they get a chance to view then fight the case.
