I think I need more information about this keyboard. For that reason it would be excellent if Mr Plouffe could keep hold of it and continue to test it until a time he feels he has all the information he needs. 6:20 A USB-C compliant port is only required to deliver up to 15W (3A @ 5V). I don't know if there are any motherboards that have a USB PD-compliant port, which would be required for 100W support. Also, non-USB PD double-ended USB-C cables to spec are supposed to support up to 60W anyway.
@cl4ster174 күн бұрын
There are some boards with 60W PD that have a dedicated PCIe power connector next to the internal header. I know of the Asus X670E Hero and X870E Hero and some ProArt one. I think MSI also has PD on some of their Godlike boards.

There's no reason for the cable to be that short. First off, you can easily get 100W rated cables at 3m length - but typically only at USB 2.0 speeds, so if it requires usb 3.0 data it will likely top out around 2m. But crucially, the board consumed, what, 12W? Meaning the use of a 100W PD cable is entirely irrelevant. Any c-to-c cable will do 15W. The reason you need a native USB-C 3.x port to use it is that those output 3A/15W as a default, while USB-A ports on motherboards typically top out at 2A/10W (though some go higher, most don't). Motherboards do not output a >5V PD voltage outside of some extreme edge cases.
