Very nice. Versatility in it is amazing, especially when you consider the price and all the plates that come with it. Never tried a magnetic polisher or really researched it much. Is interesting and will look into it. Will definitely get one when a link comes up.

Magnetic polisher too! Nice to know these machines are available now. Looked at the real ones 15 years ago, too expensive for part time hobby use. That looks like a DC 12V 100W motor, low risk and field portable.

Every review I’ve read on this machine says that it’s not good for faceting and that’s mostly OK for me cuz I work with turquoise and cab Variscite, turquoise, etc similar opaque

8" wont fit. not sure about the motor rating but its been plenty powerful for my needs. i never run it over 50 or 60 percent power

A moldy PBJ sandwich is a better choice than a high tech, belt drive is always better. Is the tiny footprint of a direct drive machine is needed get the Ameritool.

By far, the biggest problem with a flat lap is the motor dying. Best of luck, but I can't imagine the motor being very good at that price point. On the other hand, if you can replace the motor for $100.....
