The reason why business laptops have 180 degree hinge is because one of the most common failure points in a laptop is its hinge. So opening a laptop beyond a particular angle will damage the hinge. So incorporating 180 degree in a business laptop ensures that the hing is much stronger. This is my observation, I might be wrong too.

The 180 recline is to use a monitor + the laptop keyboard. So the laptop screen sits flat while you are using the laptop primarily as a keyboard.

I just got this model for work too. Mine does not have an Ethernet port. Does yours? I tried connecting a USB-C dock, but the bandwidth speed is much slower than than the built-in WiFi. Are you you solely using WiFi, or do you have a USB-C dock that supports higher speeds on its Ethernet port? Thnx!

I bought this one used, it is such a nice laptop and I love it. The only problem is that the sim card is not being detected. It does have an LTE modem installed and compatible drivers, but it always shows "insert sim" anybody have any idea about this?

No idea could just be dirty or need a driver update. How much did you pay? I see 7400s 8th gens gong for $200 with 16GB ram and 256GB SSD. About $50 more than the HP Elitebooks of the same era but these Dells have much better screens. Was also looking at 5000 latitudes because they come faster for the same price (IRIS Graphics) but have really dim screens.

I think the idea with the 180 degree hinge is you can lie it flat and use Ctrl-Alt-Down to show what's on your screen to someone sitting across from you

Can you please-specify what the Dell Dongle that you received is for? (Example: to ). Also: Yes. I have-heard there are Dell port-replicators that connect to the “USB type C” port of laptops and on the other end there are things like VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort, USB type C, USB type A, 10/100/1000 “Gigabit”-Ethernet port, etcetera.

It runs like a million degrees and its fans spin up so loud I have to put ice packs on it to keep it cool, its literally the worst work laptop I've ever had. Our company switched everyone to Thinkpads after everyone complained about these, leagues better.

Not all of the “Dell Latitude 7400”-laptops have exactly the same hardware-specifications. [It’s like saying “not all of the “Toyota Tacoma”s have the exact same hardware-specifications” and “not all of the “Toyota LandCruiser”s have the exact same hardware-specifications” and “not all of the “Ford Explorer”s have the exact same hardware-specifications”.] If the particular Dell-Latitude-7400 that you are looking-at has the hardware-specifications that the particular-computer-game you are looking-to-play (“Grand Theft Auto 5”, in this particular case) requires/demands/asks-for, you’re golden.
