I got this laptop 2 years ago and upgraded to 32gb of RAM and it has been one of my favorite laptops, its fast, small, and has good battery life. I also like the matte screen vs the glossy screen I had on my old Dell. This laptop is also very well built and strong. It is probably the most under rated used laptop and an absolute steal for under $200-300.

Nicely timed, my Latitude E7470 just crapped out yesterday with a corrupted hard disk after 4-5 years of faithful service and heavy abuse by me (besides the fact it was already refurbished to begin with). Had been looking at other laptops right before, guess it gave up the ghost when it saw that lmao. The lack of backlit keyboard was my biggest annoyance with it, this'll be a nice upgrade. Although, I'll miss the matte anti-glare screen, that was a sweet feature. And the ethernet port, never really used it but it was nice to have the option.

For sure! As my channel grows I’ll be able to get my hands on newer and newer machines. Might I recommend you also check out the Dell XPS 9500 & 9700. I’m getting one to review and the specs are an all around improvement for roughly $300-$400. One thing of note is you have to disable the turbo boost function in the BIOS to prevent thermal throttling. I unboxed a brand new Latitude 5000 for a customer and it was overheating right out of the box until I disabled that setting

I have issues with this laptop. I bought it yesterday 2nd hand > rubbery surfaces. It sticks to skin and feels disgusting > the screen cannot be fully opened. At most you can open it up to 100 degrees. The screen base touches against the floor. As a tall person, this is so not ergonomic
@RealElementProductions
@RealElementProductions 4 ай бұрын
@@jerricosagala2904 Return it if the rubber is sticky, it’s probably been left on a tabletop in the sun for years. You shouldn’t have that issue with any normal soft touch material for 8-12 years (or past the normal usability of the laptop). I remember the laptop opening a bit further than 100 degrees but it’s been a while since having this. There is a 2-in-1 model, albeit slightly more expensive. I believe the reason for the bottom of the display lifting the base off the ground is for cooling on a flat surface. Not too many places to put vents on such a thin machine! Appreciate your criticisms

@@RealElementProductions Not sure about the US market but here in Europe a significant amount of companies choose to replace their rented laptops after ~3 instead of 5 years of usage to. Meaning between when this video was made 8 months ago and now a lot of 11th Gen based devices have entered the used market and can be had for about the price i've paid for mine. I wont call the I5-1135G7 i've in my Latitude 5420 the best option of power usage either (i've a Ryzen 7700X desktop for that), but it certainly has a more capable CPU and intregrated graphics than the older 8th Gen powered systems. If you can get them at about €/$200 these provide a really great value if you're looking for a cheap laptop that can still last you a long time. If you ever plan to review or consider one I would reccomend to make sure you've one with the bigger 63Wh/4Cell battery and you've a pretty decent battery life from it to.

no ethernet port - what a fail - just 3 usb ports? what a fail
@RealElementProductions
@RealElementProductions 12 күн бұрын
@@1q3er5 As sad as it is for a premium mainstream business laptop a lot of these and newer models require the use of a USB-C dock, which hopefully you don’t need 3 USB ports while you’re out and about and Ethernet is of course tethered. Say you buy one of these Latitudes for $80-$100 and a decent USB-C dock runs for about $40, you’re still getting a better deal than a newer version that also doesn’t have these. I believe most of these docks are powered by the laptop as well so you can take out the dock when needed and you end up with more ports than any laptop

another shit laptop from dell. need to install software just to use the headphone. software uses 2GB of memory
@RealElementProductions
@RealElementProductions 9 ай бұрын
32GB of DDR4 laptop ram isn’t that expensive anymore with the release of DDR5, it’s nice that the storage and memory are expandable and not soldered to the board, and you have to install drivers on almost any used computer if you want to properly wipe any previous user’s information or even viruses, but 2GB ram usage for headphone software? You need to download the Waves Maxxaudio software from the Dell website (even if it’s the same version) and completely reinstall it. You should be using 4-5MB ram max. Looking around online this seems like a common issue but that wouldn’t be any reason to completely denounce an otherwise well built and affordable modern laptop. Hope this helps :)
