Great job as always. Boy, that driveway is going to be rough work. You made the right decision in not doing it before going to wedding.😀 You’d be so tired, and after a couple of drinks, you’d be passed out in a corner.🤪 Hope you had a good time at the wedding. I bet the neighborhood loved having you do this mess.💚

when ever i see a lawn with grass knee high, it makes me shudder because i think of rats, snakes, spiders, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, ticks, fleas and other creepy crawlies that could be a health hazard....i am so grateful that my brother has a lawn care business and we are one of his customers....i am disabled and live with my 76 yo mother....she nor I can cut our grass, so my brother does it for us

Welcome to Australia where it's the property owner's responsibility to keep the footpath in order... even though it isn't really. IF you have money to burn you can argue it in court and you will eventually get an admission that it's not actually the property owner's responsibility and maintenance of it can't be enforced, retail companies such as Harvey Norman have done this, but the average man off the street will simply mow it if for no other reason than to avoid all that grief. Of course there's nothing saying you can't leave it 4 inches high. Any higher and the council will start making allegations of vermin control etc.

That is going to become a good looking little house and in the meantime, your work is going to be a good upgrade for the neighborhood. If they called it a natural disaster, a natural habitat might be more accurate. You are probably going to be banishing bugs, vermin and even snakes. (Looking to see how the sidewalk is doing, someone has not done the nature strip and sidewalk next door either. You have an opportunity?) You did find the water meter, very buried, but I was noting you were going down through layer after layer of matted growth. Yep, you start mowing and the grass is flexing beneath as you pass. At 25:10, the view is improving to the point you have earned congratulations. You did manage to mow the yard and the front of the house is recovering its form and design. That was a good move in creating a walkway up to the house. Whatever the remainder of the driveway looks like, the house now has access again. The amount of change at 34:13 is charming. An excellent result for the amount of time you had available. Edges refound, basic mowing done, trimmed and access created.

Holy cow, Jason.. EPIC grass indeed. Wow. You sure pick the CRAZY ones!!! How fun. Lets the games begin..... love it. Serious sweat equity in this beast!!!! Awesome tidy up. Couch grass is thick stuf, wow. I love these simple metal fences you all use, kinda old fasion. This house reminds me of a storybrook cottage... I invision lush rose and herb gardens, water features, pergola, bbq area. Raised veg beds, heaven in my head!!

I notice mowing Australian properties is fraught with dangers .... those water meter/shutoff devices are placed randomly, and homeowners don't always know if they are in the middle of the yard, a corner, near the side of the house ... I did watch one guy hit one doing a free mow. He was able to call out a friend who could repair it while the homeowner stood by aghast. She was a bit frantic but kept apologizing for not being able to tell him where it was. She just did not want to have to pay for it. It all ended well.

I've seen some people use their whipper snipper to lower the edges along the sidewalk, drive, etc. first then use the edger or make an edge with the whipper snipper. You seem to like two tools. That's fine. But yea, for thick edges like that perhaps you can flatten them out a bit before you try to edge them....great job though! I like your leg guards; as I did my first trim years ago, I accidentally cut down the yellow rose bush (out of season). I thought it was just some sticks and suddenly something bit my legs....thorns!!! LOL
