As an eczema girly who always has a flare up somewhere I mostly use dermol (a prescription soap that's very hydrating). I feel like someone with coeliac disease watching a baker making pastries 😂
@SoapUniverse
@SoapUniverse 3 ай бұрын
My excema is pretty terrible! It eats away at my cuticles and then my nail growth gets stunted. I became reliant on hydrocortisone and then it stopped working lol Is dermol a hard soap or is it liquid? I just try to lotion up everywhere I go!
@hadassahm3016
@hadassahm3016 3 ай бұрын
@@SoapUniverse dermol is a liquid soap and it really helped me a lot. If you've become tolerant to steroids have you tried putting plain vaseline over your cream/emollients overnight? It's an occlusive that helps to minimise trans-epidermal water loss. Might be worth a try, it's cheap, easily accessible and low risk

@@hadassahm3016 Actually that’s a good suggestion. I use Vaseline for my lips, otherwise they get dried and cracked. Maybe I’ll try putting some on my fingers! I just had a flare up yesterday, so now’s the time to try 😃

They are beautiful straight layers. I am a coffee addict but in Australia Starbucks isn't that popular. Love your soap

Thank you! I love coffee too, and I prefer to make it myself. Is there a popular coffee place in Australia?
@leisaparoz3479
@leisaparoz3479 3 ай бұрын
@SoapUniverse we have hundreds of small independent coffee shops and they're a lot more popular than chains. I have an espresso machine, but it always seems to taste nicer when someone else makes it!!

@@leisaparoz3479 That’s funny, I prefer it when I make it myself! The weirdest thing I ordered was a white chocolate mocha with strawberry syrup, which was surprisingly good but I did catch some side eye. There’s no judgment when I do it in the comfort of my own home 😂 North America is pretty chainy! Very monopolistic. I do prefer to support small businesses when I can.

I don't like Starbucks. In fact...I dislike it so much that when I was gifted a $50USD gift card last month I gave it away. I'm not a fan of Pumpkin Pie Spice either though I do make a single 5lb batch every year. Nice job on the layers.
@SoapUniverse
@SoapUniverse 3 ай бұрын
That’s fair! Sometimes they’re hit or miss, but their Frappuccino’s are pretty consistently good. Do you drink coffee at all or do you avoid it at all costs?
@LadyGecko

Oh no, you do not want to see me until I have had my first cup of the elixir of the gods. LOL I like Dutch Bros, but it's 'road trip' coffee or Black Friday coffee, elsewise I'm okay with most dark roast and my International Delights Irish Cream.
@SoapUniverse

@@LadyGecko ooh Irish cream and coffee is wonderful! I find the double double from McDonalds surprisingly good so that’s normally my go to when I don’t make it myself. I’ve tried espresso on its own but it’s too bitter for me 😂

Your soap is beautiful! I did a latte soap with coffee in it 6 ways and the scent I chose, Carmel coffee, didn't come through at all. So disappointed. But, the soap is wonderfully scrubby since I added espresso grounds in it. Doesn't smell great, but it's a wonderful soap. Well done!
@SoapUniverse

Incorporating coffee in many different ways is a great idea! That’s disappointing though, it’s always so frustrating when the scent doesn’t stick around. But honestly, I’d always prefer a soap that looks nice but smells like nothing!

It does look a latte like terracotta! :D lovely layers for sure.. I really only had the Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks, and now 99% get my on the go drinks from a little place called Dutch Bros. :)

I haven’t heard of Dutch Bros! I thought about doing a Tim Horton’s soap since it’s so popular in Canada. I love caramel macchiatos! They’re up there with the cinnamon dulce and pumpkin spice for me 😊

@@SoapUniverseDutch is a bit smaller, in a few more states than I thought but another PNW born company like Starbucks (DB was founded in Oregon, we have lots of them) We don't have Tim Hortons here, but I hear about them often through several youtubers I have watched :) I'm down for anything with caramel and cinnamon.. yum! Maybe you could do some fun stuff with tea perhaps.. different ones, like rooibos or something :) might be interesting to see the colorations.

@@GemmaleeDee Hmm, I wonder if the vibrant blue butterfly pea flower tea would hold up through saponification? It has such a gorgeous blue colour. And matcha of course is a great green! Maybe I’ll make a layered London fog soap for those rainy days… It’s funny because I’ve never heard of Dutch Bros! I live right next to Washington, too… maybe I’ve just never paid attnetion. Tim Hortons is the OG Canadian coffee place! It’s now become a bit of a fast food joint. Their black coffee is pretty bad but their lattés are good and they have some tasty lunch options. Oh, and their donut selection wants to be like Krispy Kreme so bad hahah

@@SoapUniverse I started thinking about the butterfly pea tea after posting as well and thought dang! I should have mentioned that one too! such a pretty color.. I looked at locations and the nearest location to Canada in Washington is in Marysville, so maybe thats why? It seems a bit distant from the border. If you ever happen to be down that way though, maybe give them a try. The caramelizer is super sweet but yummy (I usually get it hot during the winter and blended during the warmer months) and the hot chai is nice as well :)
