I love that you show the ones that didn’t work too, showing the progression was fun the watch!

You made me CRACK UP at your speaking on the first soap! The whole video is absolutely entertaining and your final soap is SOOO GOOD!!! Maybe embeds vs that bottle technique? There is nothing way I can even think of trying the bottle trick! Awesome, awesome video! Thank you for sharing!!!

Thank you! Embeds would be much cleaner and I’d have a lot more control. I could see the bottle technique being useful in the future but not very much for this application! 😃

The long bubbles look like the pop is foaming over the edge, and onto your furniture! Very realistic! Love it! As the world's reigning Rebatch Queen, I think you did a fantastic job! And the lighthearted tone is great! Today, I am rebatching my Blood Clot Valentine's day soap, where the mica on the embeds coagulated into elongated red strings and scabs, to be followed by a rebatch ofmy all-natural Blueberry Pond Scum bars, this time WITHOUT the horror of oil infusions and Nature in general. "There is no error man can produce that may not be resolved with copious amounts of artificial colorants, glitter, and assorted imprecations and curses." The Rebatch Queen, 2024

That’s a good way to look at it, thanks! I have never rebatched soap before and am crossing my fingers that I won’t ever have to! You know, sometimes all it takes is to chant a spell and summon the soap wizards and witches and they’ll take care of everything 🔮

I was not expecting the lye to change colour but that orange looked gorgeous

If you want to see some really trippy lye morphing.... process the juice from a fresh aloe blade...add it to lye, it goes from clear to pink to purple to tanish brown and then to white.

As a 40 year soapmaker myself, and a big YT soapmaker follower, I have subscribed to your channel. You embrace the ‘human’ side of this addicting craft; not all our attempted creations are wins. I also love the laughter you bring to your channel…refreshing 😁. I hope you develop a large following!

That is so sweet, thank you!! 😃 One problem I have with social media is a lot of people tend to only show the best of what they’ve done. It paints an unrealistic picture of success and can be damaging to a lot of people’s self esteem. My favourite creators are the ones who are honest and genuine! 😊

suggestion!!: how about using a melon baller to scrape "bubble shapes" once the darker colour semi-solidified?? love the vids btw!!

That’s a great idea! Too bad I didn’t think of it sooner. A lot of techniques look so easy when you’re watching someone else do it, but in real life it can be real challenging! I should keep a melon baller on hand because I could see myself using that technique in the future!

The clear melt and pour turned brown cuz the fragrance oil discolored brown....clean brown is a dusty looking brown. Same thing happened with the purple....it morphed.

I have been watching all your videos over the past few days, and was kind of shocked that you havent been going for that long, all things considered. On a side note, every soap video I watch makes ne want to give it a shot that much more- i just dread starting a new hobby because ADHD. I have 30 half completed projects as it is. So much money spent on materials, and soap wouldnt be cheap.

That’s so sweet, thank you! Cold processed soapmaking is expensive to start, but pretty reasonable to keep going. By keeping my batches to 4 bars, I can practice a ton of different techniques and since I only do it once every couple weeks, the materials only cost as much as it costs to maintain a cake decorating hobby. I have a video about making the cheapest soap recipe possible, and another about using Crayola and Febreze as cheap colourant/fragrances that’ll probably help you out! I can relate to hobby hopping… a lot. I have a cabinet that’s just full of unused supplies! Soap (as well as painting/drawing) seems to have become a long term hobby which is great 😊 Something else to consider is starting out with melt and pour. It’s a lot cheaper, a lot more accessible, and there are a ton of fun techniques you can try. Fragrance seems to stick better in M+P and you have much more control over your colours. Try that out and use it to gauge whether or not you want to commit to cold processed!

I'm thinking the first fragrance you used had a large amount of vanillin in it, that can cause some seriously ugly soap colour morphs. The second two soaps are gorgeous, keep up the great work, you are so creative.

You can use soap dough for the bubbles next time. If you wrapped that extra soap in plastic wrap it would have stayed soft, then you can roll it or shape it to make bubble embeds for your next try.

That’s a great idea! I thought about using melt and pour, but since I wanted to gel the soap I wouldn’t have been able to use M&P. Soap dough balls to toss in would have worked perfectly… darn it!

I saw a video where she taped a cut pipette to the end to get in there deep with the bubble look! Don't be bumbed. Also use low sweat M&P may help. Now back to the rest of your video for me

Didn't see the pipette part when I commented, sorry! I wonder if a thin line couldn't just be laid down on top of thick soap base to get the bubble effect? Was thinking this when I watched the tutorial video. I'm going to try it today. Btw, made my first soap and then a second that needs to be cut when the cutter arrives today.

Yes! I think I picked that up from I Dream in Soap. She makes the craziest soap designs and is truly an artist. I thought of using melt and pour for the bubbles, you’re right! I had to choose between that and gelling the soap, because gelling soap can melt the M&P. I opted to gel because I wanted my colours to be very saturated 😊

Also... formulate a soap recipe that is primarily white...ie: coconut or lard. Yellow plus purple equals brown...so id your batter is yellow and you add a light amount of purple colorant...brown. also dont use tkb trading Patagonian Purple...its a gorgeous amethyst purple...until lye hits it them it turns to a cranberry red. Annoying.

You can call the original " soda" and it will sell. Dont call it grape cuz the. Folks will ask why it isnt purple. But if you call it soda, it smells like a pop...folks will accept that.
