​@ECPP Bought a Toyota avalon new in 2014 with the 3.5L V6. It's made in Lexington, KY and Toyota calls it the Lexington Lexus. I'm retired and don't put many miles on, only 22,000 in ten years. Car still looks brand new in and out. Has a dealer installed sports package that I've never seen another in the wild. Pinstriping, rear spoiler, daytime LED running lights, and 19 inch Michelins with BBS sport wheels. Might be the last car I ever own. Every time I bring it to the dealer for regular service, they freak out over how good it looks. They'd love to have me trade it in but no way. I paid a little under $35k, 60 months @0%. Traded in a 2008 Infinti G37s and added some cash. Had a $320 monthly payment. When I see the prices of new cars, it's crazy. I'd love to get a Lexus rc 500 f sport but $60k? $500 payments? Nah. Nothing like driving a reliable car with no payments.

My Lexus IS250 has been more reliable than 2 previous Honda Accords I owned.. I’m still waiting for something too break on it… 7 years of ownership.. and just tires and brakes and finally a battery.. so even its most unreliable model is still reliable than most cars on the road .. that really speak highly of the brand Lexus.. that’s Amazing.. 😊..!!!!!

I own the Lexus LX600 now at 50k miles no problem at all. they’re not effected by the bad engine since they’re Japanese built it’s only the Toyota Tundra that are built in USA are the ones you have to watch out for.

For the long term, look at Mazda, Honda, Subaru, Toyota, Hyundai, and Kia. Any of those brands will not disappoint. You must must must do the required maintenance or there will be problems.

As a Toyota Master Tech here in Canada i will agree with you. The IS 250 is underpowered and unreliable. Always go with a IS 350.

This is what I always heard from my grandfather, that started his mechanic carrier in the early 50’s. Fabrication Ordinary Repair Daily Put that in the order you want. Ford had a few good vehicles here and there, but for many, many years has always been the same. And it is only getting worse.

Really, nowadays, if you're buying a BMW without "excessive technology", are you buying a BMW? For years, even with the 2002 Coupe, they've demonstrated outstanding suspension and chassis balance and have only added technology commensurate of the era for which any of their model's generation exists. In my opinion, it's not the excessive technology, but instead, the excessive crappy design and build technology. Planned obsolescence.
