VR, for sure, although e-sim racers do not use VR. But I’m not a e-sim racer, and I don’t do much multiplayer. VR in Assetto Corsa and AC Competizione is very immersive and that’s why I prefer VR.

ACC is wonderful ! I was able to configure it all and run ACC 120hz/120fps with OPENXR + fov rendering on Crystal. No delay, super smooth!! I am on the track in the car! insane feeling, my brain is so tricked I am scared to brake late or deep dive into corners !! wow I am there :)

For a quick race without much setup I feel I prefer the convenience of a flat/ curved super ultrawide screen experience. Add in head tracking and it’s almost there. But for times when I want complete immersion, VR for sure, the headset even gives you the helmet wearing feeling.

My quest pro crashes when I remove the headset with open xr. I have to disable the proximity sensor to fix the problem. I'm not sure if the crystal is the same.

i bought a pimax crystal today second hand (less than half price) even though I have one of those new Samsung 57 inch Ultra wide Double 4K monitor 32:9 on my sim rig which is near perfect. I have tried HTC Vive Elite, Quest 3 and PSVR2, even though the visual quality was subpar, the immersion is just out of this world. as many have pointed out, Ii wish people can experience this once the price drops and the hardware manufacturers figure out how to auto configure all the software (steamvr, openxr, open composite etc…) so it is more plug and play. The follow up to the newly released Pimax crystal LIGHT is definitely a go for me in the future or even the second gen of the big screen beyond, but only if they still support displayport,as i want to avoid USB C compression and lost of visual clarity at all cost.

hey can you tell me, if there is a massive difference in fov on 57 inch compared to the 49 inch?

I also used triple monitors. It's easier to get a stable FPS so VR takes a bit more time to set up. You could also say, of course, triple screens are easier on your head! But VR is just so much more immersive, you can see the corners better. Everything is just bigger and you can really look into the corners.

I used to be on Triple Screen Setup, when I got the HTC Vive Pro2 I actually got rid of the 3rd monitor and been enjoying VR since then, but with my RTX 3060ti its been a struggle to keep consistent framerates and clear images, so my hope is just that in the future I can Upgrade to a better GPU and the issues with that will just vanish and I can enjoy it atleast in 90hz mode. 😅
