NO MORE NEW SHIPS. Nothing amazing about this ship, at all. What is amazing, is reading Invictus 2945 (2015) posts from people being excited about modules in the Retaliator, and here in 2024 we finally get them and they suck balls. That's just the beginning. How about the fact that there's now private investors invested into CIG for 10's, possibly 100's of millions of dollars, and our backing of ships or any players opinions are officially worth nothing. When they give people refunds who have been backing the game for years, THAT WOULD BE AMAZING.

ALL the KZbinrs and reviewers and missed 2 things. Extrapolation of the 36SCU containers shows there should be 1200-2000 SCU in this thing... AND the other... MORE IMPORTANT thing no ones said.... This thing can land on planet. No Hull can do that, which means THIS is the meta, unless all you want to do is space truck.

Stupid idea, so the bridge can be removed. What if you had a Fury as a turret? An enemy scout ship comes along. You need to take it down and follow it, so you detach your Fury and go after it.

!Torpedo loading suggestion! There should be robot arms to help load the torpedos. You would see a holographic indicator that helps you put the torpedos into the loading area and then the arms grab it and its loaded. It would look smoother by far

It is probably the best all-rounder ship, Cargo, pocket carrier, Salvage/Mining mothership, search rescue repair and so much more. The secure cargo room looks like an armory to me . This is one of the most flexible ships, as far as gameplay loops. It's a Liberator on steroids. I really like this one, just have to figure how to get it. It will cost more than the Liberator IMO.

Just finished another session (3.23.1) Mole turret's pip and laser broke, mining is now very hard, finally loaded C2 w/ore and it disappeared, flew to NB then went to commons...elevators stuck, then a server error...please wait...please wait more. Woke up in a bed with no armor just a hospital gown, went back to space port and to claim C2...all cargo lost. I understand this's "alpha" ... been playing since 2015. But geeze, 3.23.1 is tweaked big time despite all the improvements. The wipe deleted 30 mil aUEC from me and making it back is harder now with new bugs that weren't in 3.22! I love Olli43's videos but it's hard to appreciate all these new ships when the old ones are now broken with this so-called "update" I get it, they'll eventually fix what they broke hopefully before the next patch? And the "Issue Council" doesn't inspire confidence when they mark a new problem as "duplicate" when it's been reported OVER A YEAR AGO. CIG needs to focus a bit on fixing bugs over releasing live (on a schedule) something clearly not ready for "live" but has new ships, wooo-who! The UI is better in many ways but also broken in more ways. Work-arounds don't cut it.

It's cool they brought my ship from Starfield into the game. I will probably trade a ship to get a token for this at the concept price then swap it back. Depending how this goes it will be between this and the Galaxy. As for the Kracken, when they finish the exterior, they should add it as a station first. Let people land on it and use it to rearm. Maybe have a small interior section.

Why does everyone seem to not have heard what they say????? 8 tot 10 times caterpillar cargo. It comparable with a Hull C. Hull D will be comparable with kraken etc. They literally said that. Which probably means the 4k cargo on krsken might not be the actual number cause that is Hull C area.

The excitement of what CIG delivers anymore is dead in me. This Drake ship is way cool but the (working/meaningful) gameplay for it wont come for YEARS. I mean elevators and bunkers are broken around Crusader in 3.23.1. I sincerely feel sponsoring CIG anymore condones CIG questionable deliverables and bad focus. Same time I do hope for better gameplay from them.

I understand how this ship will truly excite some people, but I'm sadly not feeling it, not even a little. The cargo space might be there from the art, but I don't think it can effectively hold multiple ships. To add some color to that statement, people might envision this as a pocket carrier, but unless it can repair OR house the repair ship simultaneously, no bueno. Also, the bigger the ship gets, the less practical the "Millennium Falcon" off-center flight deck makes sense. Landing and flight navigation in 3rd person will probably be used a LOT. If people like the aesthetic of the ship, then grand. Enjoy! However, "wobbly flying box" is basically my assessment. Now, if the military version has a repair facility - awesome, but ... how much cargo do you lose? Might be worth a warbond CCU, maybe. However, I don't think they are selling the military version this go-around. We'll see...

@olli43... If I had the choice of only one... Ironclad or Polaris? My inclination is the Ironclad for the utility... It's a cargo ship, garbage scow, pre-emptive salvage vehicle, and... If the assault version comes out, a pocket carrier. Think of how many furies you could fit in the space of 4 tanks, and then with a repair bay... If they can refuel, man.

They should finish the Catterpillar before thinking about another ship, especially since the devs made such a stink over how much of a problem the doors would be. The Ironclad is kind of neat though. The Mule doesn't get the love since the mule is a terrible design. I can move one box in the front and one in the back (but no mirrors/cameras to see back behind it). A forklift moves STACKS of boxes rather than one at a time. It's like the Devs forgot about every labor saving invention developed in the last hundred years then rolled out a mule and slapped a "Welcome to the future!!" sticker on it.

I love drake. Function over form. But my issue that I have with drake is the designs have seem like the ship was old and beat up. Duct taped together rather than utilitarian and exposed. I bought a brand new ship. The cables and wires should be tucked away neatly still. Computer screens should be functional and placed correctly, not sitting on the floor. No panels covering the cables, everything is exposed but still neat. Function over form doesn’t mean duct tape and zip ties.

For the size of this ships they still don’t have a communication system for the captain to communicate with VOIP to all crew, or engineering crew, or storage, etc... They should implement a VOIP system in those huge ships to pass communications and orders to the crew. My 2 cents

There are mechanics the IronClad will have, that the Kraken will utilize. So building out the tech in this order, gives CIG the opportunity for an additional cash cow.

It's cool to manually load stuff... but really? Are we in world war 2 here? I feel like automatically reloading torpedos would be a given. If I bought a huge Ship for mega bucks and then had to manually reload the weapons like its the turn of the century? Nah... thats not gameplay, that's busy work for no reason at all. If you were interested though, there should be robot arms and holographic indicators that help you put the torpedo into the right place for the arms to grab them.

As a Wing Commander right now... they really should stop making new concepts or slow down while I still wait for ships that are years backed for. Get rid of the backlog slowly and fill the game with more missions then I am happy to spend even more money for the games progress. I want my Genesis, Orion, Merchantman and many others in my hangar in the near future. Somehow these things are always a slap in the face to backers even if I love this concept. Take responsiblity for all the money you have already taken years before first.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why does it matter if it has a landing pad? I've landed a Ion on an Inferno's landing gear, so best I can tell, if it fits it doesn't matter. You won't be able to spawn ships but I cant imagine having a pad would change that.

i love the big engines reminds me of the cr-90 from star wars, i just wish the controls were on the big bridge not the cat command module, i think they should add a second command module but make them lite fighters so the iron clad would have 2 instead of just 1 lite fighter like the connie

I am so surprised the big ships don't have metal shields that activate when in battle that cover all the glass sections on the bridge of any craft this could have a very cool and immersive animation adding to the tense feeling of battle, after the shields deploy holographic representations of the outside view replace the view through the glass the lighting changes to battle mode etc. Make it so CIG.

if there are org wars where there are org controlled areas something like the new world player controled regions. The ironclad could be massive to transport a bunch of small ships like the mirai fury u could probably fit like a whole fleet of them in that ship to disrupt the other faction/ org it would be cool if the cargo hold would have a self destruct mechanism and then u could detach from it and fly scot free

It is a cargo ship, but I think for me this is going to be a mobile base to drop on a planet Cheryl use it for cargo, but if I’m spending good amount of time on the planet. I’m gonna drop this planet side and operate out of it.

Its Drakes take on a Higgins Boat and im all for it. i was kinda meh on the actual cockpit placement at first rather than the observation deck.. but being higher up and able to see the cargo out thr corner of my eye i think is gonna be nice
