In this Reaction, the Juicy Guys react to the One Piece Official Netflix Trailer that came out of no where during a special announcement because of ONE PIECE DAY. The Juicy Guys (DOLFF, AntC, AcAi, and Nathan) did not see this coming. THERE IS ALSO A SPECIAL SUPRISE AT THE END OF THE VIDEO!
The new trailer showcases a lot of new things that the old trailer was not able to show. New locations, New character designs, More Dialogue, and much more. The internet had a lot of talk of whether they were excited or if the show is going to be trash.

@@combogalis EXACTLY! People say anime and manga shouldn't be turned into live actions... That's just hater behavior. We should cheer for Oda and OP. Hope it turn out to be a successful adaptation so we set a standard and finally start to get high quality productions with more money invested. I do not think s1 it's going to be what we want from a live action, but the OP feeling is there, and the trailer already seems way better than what we got from adaptations so far.

One of the potential coolest things about this, is them setting up things early, that Oda couldn't set up, because he didn't know it would be a thing? Like the Supernova, Oda didn't know they'd exist, until around the time he introduced them. But, obviously we know all about them now, and can definitely reference them. I think Oda had an idea about Haki? But he didn't have all the rules figured out. They can set that up good. Several things like that.

I feel the major thing they have going for them, at least from how they formed the trailers. is that they captured the magic and vibe of the east blue. they captured the spirit. I think because of how one piece is by default, it actually benefits from keeping that cartoony aspect in the live action. I think one piece is one of the few if not the ONE anime that can actually get away with this and have people love it. I mean so far and I'm a BIG OP fan, I'm on board.

The live action it seems faithful to the original story but it will be different, there will be changes because 100 chapters in 8 episodes (even if they last 1 hour or more) is impossible. Oda made a letter to the one piece fans during the one piece day where he said that there will be some changes but he is ready to take the good and bad critics about the changes, he also said that there won't be some characters in the show (probably jhonny and josaku, maybe don krieg and gin) but he is ready to listen to all the good and bad opinions, there's love in this series, but that doesn't mean that it will be a success (and if this is said by one of the most famous authors, that's already an answer). Oda his hopefull that it will be good, but if people will hate it, he is ready to take it. This trailer looks very good to me and a lot of people that watched the first teaser had a change of opinion. It isn't perfect, but as for now, it's good. Every opinions will be important only when the series starts. Like I said, the story will be sliglty different, we see the fishman pirates at the baratie, so probably to buy some time they changed the baratie plot, and probably the fishman will chase nami, it's not her who will leave without answers, probably we will see the bad nami already at the baratie and not at arlong park. Said that, this seems good, if they can mix reality and goofiness of one piece in the right way, this series will succed

I have been hearing theories that arlong could be threaded throughout the season as tracking Nami so krieg fight still happens but then he appears takes out the weakened crew but Nami already escaped with Merry. Then the crew follows once they recover to get name in cocoyashi

If the show is good, maybe I could finally watch something with my mom without either of us getting bored. But I still personally have some fears for the One Piece live-action. 1) Considering the live manga adaptations having the quality ranging from "causes ulcers" to "average at best", I would necessarily have apprehensions. 2) The balance between "joyful chaos which is funny because it's in drawing" and "it becomes ridiculous or scary when played by actors" is going to be difficult to achieve. 3) The balance between manga content and adaptation. It is necessary to change things when you adapt. We lose but we win. In addition, the principle of adaptation is to address a new audience while satisfying a minimum of the already fanbase. Of course, you can't please everyone. But I'm afraid that the changes will make you lose more than you gain. In the same way, if it's to redo the anime/manga frame by frame, it's not interesting. One Piece will be tricky to adapt and to a 26-year-old fanbase. 4) Sanji's obsession with women. In drawing, it passes but sometimes extremely shortly. Like the time he sniffed Perona. It was hyper cringe. I'm afraid of what it will look like in live-action. 5) Zoro. The actor looks well chosed and is very handsome. As a French youtuber said: "he knows he's a 10 and that he's playing an 11". So my fear is that he will be used as a kind of poser. Zoro doesn't look like it, but he's going to be a very difficult character to embody. He is often withdrawn, except in the fights, and rather cold and closed. It's a good thing that Sanji is there to blow his top, especially after the 2 year timeskip where he shows even less emotion. However, we see that he is important not only as a fighter or second, but also as a pillar of the crew. Another thing is that he is not stupid. He is extremely proud, half-crazy, does not go overboard, does not bother with details that are not his to manage or subtlety, does not hesitate to join the collective fun and is completely lost. . But stupid? No. His rough method works well so he has no reason to change it and if we look for a rational explanation for the gag of his lack of sense of direction, it's more like a neuronal problem, like epilepsy, than to stupidity. I'm afraid that this subtlety is missed in the adaptation (it is already often missed now).

I wouldn't consider anything live action done by Netflix ...considering they butchered Death Note also having a Live Action One Piece Adaptation is just another butchering in the process as it will miss out on the iconic laughs that ever character has... this is a huge pass for me

Expecting them to follow the story of the Manga and Anime beat by beat, is stupid and unrealistic. Things will be different. And personally, I want them to be different, I don't need to see the exact same story a 3rd time. I think what they are doing, is during the Baraite, instead of Nami abandoning them and stealing the Merry, the Fishmen come and find her, and take her back. Like she's been gone to long or something like that. And Nami, is clearly standing with Luffy and Zoro in the Axe Hand Morgan fight. Don Krieg is cast, so the Fishmen either come before that fight, or after it?
