sorry about your loss. This reminds me of losing my German Shepherd several years ago from bloat. She looked surprisingly similar to your dog! She was the best dog I have ever had.

Oh that got me... right in the heart. I'm so very sorry for your and Tyler's loss. Of course they're your kids, your babies... they're family. Poor baby. Thanks for not letting your dog die alone. One of the most heartbreaking things I've ever read came from a vet. He said that part of his job, unfortunately, was putting down pets. He said that they always seemed to know that their time was up and would always, ALWAYS look around the room for their owners and if they couldn't see them because their owners weren't there for their last moments, they'd lay their heads back down in disappointment. He was the one who comforted them in their last moments and he said it always broke his heart because it should be their owners doing that, not him. That was when I resolved to be there for my dog's last moments, no matter how hard, no matter how much I know it'll hurt. She's given me nothing but love and companionship so it's the very least I can do for her. I have zero regard for those who leave their pets to die alone and scared, among strangers. Don't tell me it's too hard... it's their pets doing the dying! Again, I'm sorry for your and Tyler's loss.
