I'd actually be shocked if they didn't release the blue deer in a different set considering how many people want it. I'm partly wondering if they just decided to make this one pink to save on plastic (since they already have been using pink plastic as a base for the advent calendar deer)? I have no idea how those costs work in toy production, but that's quite literally the only explanation I can think of for changing the BLUE color of a deer in a WINTER wonderland set into a pink one.

I am genuinely so, so frustrated with Basic Fun about this. I was SO hyped about the "weird alien deer" I saw in the collector's pamphlet and thought it would be so cute next to the pink advent calendar deer... only for them to randomly change their mind at the LITERAL LAST MINUTE. And clearly they scrambled to do it too considering the inconsistencies with it being purple on the packaging... I kinda wish I could be a fly on the wall at Basic Fun so I could see whatever the hell happened over there.

I definitely think they are also rushing everything. Rushing the first wave off the shelf to replace it with wave 2 which I would say is worse quality

The blue deer and even the purple version on the back of the box are neat designs that I really hope we see again. I feel like pretty much all of the deer through the years have been varying shades of brown or pink or a combination so seeing deer that are a different color is a cool concept

I wish they kept the deer blue. I hope in Wave 3, Basic Fun makes a bee LPS based on the super-rare metallic blue IRL bees. They're really pretty and this would be a great opportunity of Basic Fun to teach about endangered insects. Honestly, I just want more bees, butterflies [especially if they make a new Tiger Swallowtail mold with pointy wings], ladybugs, and dragonflies in general.

A blue bee could have the coloration of IRL blue bees [they are very rare but beautiful], a blue butterfly could be a blue morpho [with the outside of the wings painted brown with eye spots to match the IRL butterfly], and a blue dragonfly would be epic!

Awww its such a shame they didn't make the blue deer :( I like pink but... thats 4/6 pink animals in one set?! thats kinda absurd. I'm also disappointed they called it a "reindeer" but it doesnt even have a unique mold (the g4 reindeer mold actually looks really good and would fit in with the g2s/g7s imo!). female reindeer even have antlers most of the time so that would have been cool. On your video where you compared the old LPS packaging to the new packaging I commented mentioning one of my favorite sets growing up was the Snowball fun set, which really reminds me of this one. It would be so neat to see someone compare "themed" sets like this, looking at their accessories and the pets and talk about how the brand has changed! That set had 3 pets but much more clothes-type accessories, according to the wiki it was $9.99 in 2005 which today is about $16 with inflation. 1/2 the pets = 1/2 the price, I suppose.

I'mma put in my two cents and say that MAYBE Basic Fun suddenly changed the color of the deer because either it would have been to expensive to mass produce or that a sudden focus group decision decided that pink=girls and thus more girls would buy a pink deer than a blue deer. Which sucks because like everyone else has been saying, the original blue deer's color scheme is much more adorable, especially how the fur is blue whist it's hooves are brown like the eyes. Overall to me it looks much more like a "realistic fiction" deer than the pink one with just brown eyes and hot pink hooves. That to me felt a little more...under baked like it was changed at the last second. Hopefully if the community makes enough noise Basic Fun could work out something and bring back the blue deer. (the hot pink squirrel is adorable though and the bun in the sleeping bag was also a triplets pet or a special edition calico/spotted bunny. I own the latter and the mold just looks so familiar to me heh)

tbh I wouldn't be that upset about another pink deer if it wasn't for the fact it was so close to the (much better imo) advent calendar design & didn't replace the blue one. + the fact the blue deer was featured in officially released stuff only to be silently replaced really isn't helping with the confusion a lot of us are feeling w/G7's releases... What miffs me is the fact that Basic Fun made this campfire set with 3 smores stick holes, but only gives you 2 sticks?? That's lazy and cheap af. The Cozy Campfire set with #670-672 definitely came with 3 smores sticks, and one even had a marshmallow that was more cooker than the others.
