BMW should be praised for keeping the iDrive control wheel When driving, it's so much easier to use then trying to stab at a touch screen and hoping you land on the icon you're aiming for.

Great review! I love my X5 30d. I added air suspension and four wheel steering to enhance the comfort and dynamics. The best car in the market

I'd option air suspension. No doubt. -Tom

At least - unlike some rivals - it’s built well, goes well, stops well and rides well. Just a shame about the warranty.

I went to my local Toyota dealer last week to ask about expected wait time for a hybrid rav4 and was told I can skip the wait if willing to pay $70k for a mid spec model. Yep, for a used Toyota.The world has absolutely gone mad.
@AnonymousBloke2 жыл бұрын
@@scwong6349, Same experience for me. $50k with a 20-24 month wait for a new RAV. Or a second hand model (6 - 18 months old) for a whole lot more. Crazy times.

@@chasingcars Warranty is the key point. Why would we spend a fortune if the manufacturer doesn’t have confidence that their products could last more than 3 years without any major issues?

Just wait 3 years. It’ll be half price

I dont understand why car makers are going for touchscreen rather than control wheels and physical buttons . They are so much more intuitive and safer to use whike driving

I wouldn't call the original X5 questionable in looks, it looks great for its age in my opinion, particularly the facelift model.

Lovely to see new presenters. Although, I will just offer some feedback as a (long time) viewer. A few of them are coming across as a bit too much of an infomercial and not quite as thorough or trustworthy as your previous reviews. I know you're independent, but the tone of the newer presenters (especially the script reading) could fit that a bit better.

I know we are just meant to accept new car prices But we shouldn’t They are utter BS Especially since you just still pay extra for things luxury cars should have standard Vehicle inflation has been running high for two decades but standard features keep declining Imagine BMW in the 1990s selling a new luxury model and expecting you to pay extra still for basic luxury amenities that are standard on Korean brands

Has the 25d been discontinued? I thought that was the cheapest X5. Also, what about the equipment they have deleted from spec due to supply chain issues?
@chasingcars2 жыл бұрын
It appears to have been discontinued, yes - which is a shame because the 25d, while agricultural, was a really likeable drive. Especially on 20s which rode well. As for supply chain and spec… it’s changing every month. This car was fairly well kitted out. Lumbar, touchscreen.
@johnoneill10112 жыл бұрын
You mean the deletion of at least HUD (Heads Up Display), Wireless Phone Charging, Driving Professional Plus and powered bolsters on the front passenger seat? That's been the case for almost 2 years now, albeit with some price adjustments. Once you have had these conveniences, their absence puts you off upgrading.

Unless I’m mishearing the kiwi accent, at 0:49 he says “CX-5”. Freudian slip? Have one of those as well as a modern BMW. Sadly the former offers a far better ownership experience.

Good informative review as usual from cc. I was amused to see from 5 minutes in that the new reviewer only occasionally drives with 2 hands on the wheel (whilst going around bends at speed talking about safety kit). I know we all do it but let’s hope the gendarmes don’t watch this video!

Fair point and one that will be taken on board. That said, for transparency, like most of our videos now it’s filmed on a private track, rather than the public road.

Woudn't touch a diesel again after owning G01 X3 30d for 4.5 years. Not saying I had issues with it as it has been a very reliable and good car to own, but it's inevitably noisy and unrefined, plus the benefit of cheaper fuel is no longer there with diesel prices being a rip off. Glad I got rid of it without losing too much money and replaced it with a brand new Tesla Model Y.

@@chasingcars Buy a BMW, brand new, with your own money. I dare you. I double dare you. The only new car I have ever bought was a $100k 135i M Sport convertible. The seats started to come apart within two months. The windscreen cracked within a week. It was delivered to us having already had the paint swirled by some idiot with a polisher. I sold it six months later and got $65k for it. I have also owned 12 other BMW's (none since I woke up about ten years ago to what BMW really was after my E60 M5 was TRASHED by a dealer while having a gearbox leak repaired at the big three year, 45,000km mark, taken out for a weekend away, rear tyres balded, men's clothes in the boot on top of the dealer boot liner, damage all over, I have photos) and a total of just shy of 90 cars. My Alfa Romeo 4C Launch is now seven year old. ZERO defects, zero issues and I never feel like the next time I get in I'll get that wonderful BMW bong that tells me something has broken in the night for no good reason.
